Too many writers are using generative 'AI' to make their book covers, so I've written a guide on how to make your own cover for free or cheap without turning to a machine.
If you can't afford to pay an artist, you CAN make your own!
I hope this is a helpful overview that covers the basics and points to some free resources.

And you know what? You have no idea how mentally and emotionally trying this is. Asking for help isn't easy at all, but when I think that the price will be staying alive, getting our basic needs and rebuilding our lives, it pushes me more and more to do this until we reach our goal.
This is Ola, the older sister who is trying to help her family. For 11 months until now, we have been struggling to get proper food after prices increased by 15 to 20 times, struggling to have clean water for use and drinking and now we're out of them all. We are trying to survive under starvation, thirst, and poverty. So please, if you can give help to our campaign, don't hesitate.

Me and my family are currently safe but power has gone out and it’s loud still we’re doing pretty well so that’s good! We did get a flash flood warning earlier though which is less good. Anyway this is a very different post than usual for me but I can’t sleep. Everyone else is Florida and other affected areas stay safe!

It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Fun fact there’s a restaurant called Ford’s Garage which as you may have guessed themed around the car brand ford the one I went too was right next a Ford dealership which leaves me to assume that Ford is a car brand who also has there toes in the food industry.
Does anyone know how to tell if your work is ok, I know constructive criticism can be helpful but I want to make sure the draft I give people to criticize is at least decent. I’m taking mainly about writing in this case as I can spot visual oddities in my artwork more easily than I can notice clunkiness in my writing. I’d love any advice anyone may have.
Ya’ll for the past few hours I’ve been trying to calculate population growth for my fictional world and started going year by year listing out the total population, births, and deaths for each year.
There’s no way this is necessary, and I do t know why I’m doing all this when there’s no way at any point anyones gonna start talking about population growth within the story.

I wanted to share this because I think this is a genuinely great move and works because Pennsylvania is a swing state where these votes make a much bigger impact.
I understand people who are conflicted over the 2024 election but rather than simply not voting looking into any organized movements like this to use your vote as a tool would be awesome. Obviously what you can do varies state by state and some people aren’t comfortable withholding there vote with trump as the other candidate which is understandable.
Anyway sorry for the ramble remember that even if you don’t feel you can vote for Kamala there is still a lot of local elections that matter. Good luck to everyone.
P.S Also look into any petitions here’s one I recently signed lemme know if you have anymore that I can add my name too!

Yeh I feel like we can critique are candidates but it’s important we do it with accurate information!
It didn’t hit me until recently that people genuinely think Kamala Harris was a police officer because of all the people who call her a cop online.
Like I think maybe it’s important people should know she was a prosecutor. She was once a district attorney and later an attorney general for the state of California. And we can discuss how related that is to police work and how tied she is to the carceral system etc etc (but for fairness would have to include her record of pushing for lowering incarceration rates through programs helping former prisoners + her office refusing to jail folks for low level weed offense). But she was never a police officer. Like people should get that clear. Kamala Harris was never a police officer. She was a district attorney. She was never a police officer.
As a bitch with an inherently political identity imma be voting for Kamala Harris this election season.
Additionally 468 motherfucking house seats are up for elections so showing up for that is also helpful.
I understand how hopeless the political climate can feel, and how there have been systems put in place that prevent marginalized people from voting but I urge you try to get out and vote.
P.S. I’m very happy Biden dropped out as I felt genuine dread over the idea of voting for him. The fact that so many politicians are so genuinely shitty sucks and I understand feeling trapped and powerless like even if you vote it won’t do anything but please I think we should at least try.
