i think squirrel & leaf deserve to get a little unhealthily codependent with it. they love and adore each other more than anything in the whole world, and they are the only people who will ever know each other truly and completely. but. they are the center to each others universe. everything they do, they do it for each other. leafpool is not leafpool without her sister. squirrelflight is not squirrelflight without her sister, not really. do they ever... resent that ? even just a little bit? that they will be forever so intertwined? even if they wanted to leave (they dont) they never could. leafpool died and wrenched squirrelflights personhood away from her. left her to rot on the ground. even though they promised they could never go on without the other, leafpool died and squirrelflight kept living. inseparable until the end of time, but a quiet part of leafpool cant help but wonder how squirrel is even carrying on when she knows she never could. nothing in the world could drive them apart. they both wouldnt have it any other way.
my stupid ass JUST realised that Jonathan heard both monologues in s4: wills AND mikes. thats why he looked so fucking pressed when mike opened his BITCH ASS mouth and started confessing his love to el by throwing wills words in her face
Byler nation scares me so bad bc what if we really are just fucking insane?? 😠I'm so used to being queerbaited and being told "sometimes the curtains are just blue" like NO. THEY ARE BLUE AND YELLOW AND THE AMOUNT OF METAPHORS IS IMMEASURABLE
Stancy is supposed to be mirroring Mileven. But Stancy, compared to Mileven has changed.
Steve isn't the same Steve as he was before. He's not self centered anymore, he isn't an ass and he isn't a bully. Nancy also changed, she isn't self centered, waiting for everything from everyone and arrogant.
The reason why Nancy got with Jonathan it's because he was at the right time. A time where Steve and her were having problems in their relationship.
But then Steve changes and evolves through the show while Nancy is now with Jonathan. They're grown up. And it feels like Nancy is now seeing Steve as... himself, his attractive self again. She still has feelings for him, it's clear. And so does Steve.
Steve and Nancy were right but wrong time. Jonathan and Nancy were wrong but right time.
They miss communicatate, like... Mileven. The girl feels like she's a bit more independent, like.. oh again, Mileven, El is independent. They fight, again... Mileven coded. And they have some strong moments... Mileven.
While with Steve... they have sweet moments - like byler. They have intimacy and fight for dumb things- byler. They always look out for each other and listen each other - byler.
I think Stancy now is more byler coded than Mileven coded while Jancy is more Mileven coded than byler coded.
Steve deserves Nancy, she's his first love. Nancy deserves Steve, he's her first love.
I feel bad for Jonathan tho. But he just doesn't fit it.
And one more thing about Jancy... they constantly need to reassure themselves and give reasons of why they're together/love each other. They're giving arguments to prove this to themselves...
I feel like Jancy is sibling behavior while Stancy is actual love. Sounds familiar? Oh yeah...
It's my entire opinion, but I feel like a Stancy redemption isn't such a bad idea.
Hollypaw asks Brackenfur about the warrior code.
i dedicated my life to you and all you've ever done is punish me for it
-SPOILERS-
So I finished it and here are my thoughts!!
Moonpaw: literally everything about her character is so interesting to me. All the stuff with her dead sister and how she doesn't seem to realize the full impact of her actions is a very cool concept!! It almost reminds me of the collector from the owl house. Can't wait to see where they go with her!
Tawnypelt: I love her and her stupid crush on Crowfeather, I hope it becomes canon, please Erin's please it would be so funny. Other than that I actually enjoyed a lot of her chapters and idk why? They were just more active than the other two I think. Also poor Tawny, almost all of her friends are dead and her son keeps disrespecting her when she's just trying to support her grandson ðŸ˜Tawnypelt deserves best grandma award for helping out Birchfeather
Leafstar: honestly I'm with her clanmates here, she needed to step down especially after the badger incident. I feel bad for her but its clear that it's time for retirement. Everytime she dreamed of the gorge or Echosong I just got so sad, like she lost her home and her best friend it's so depressing. But I think her tendency to focus on the past and not the future is why she needed to give up leadership. I'm glad she realized it herself instead of getting fully impeached. Also Hawkstar!!! I'm so excited, Hawkwing will be SUCH a headstrong leader, I hope him and Tigerstar get into arguments at every gathering bc you know they would
Other thoughts:
It sounds like the clans might have to make another journey because of twolegs? Which will be interesting. I can't tell if I like the idea of that or not; on the one hand, it's a repeat of tnp, on the other, it could be a fun thing to read. I do think that contrasting Tawny/Crow who were horrified at the idea of making another journey, with the younger cats who don't seem to care much about a potential move was very smart. They don't really realize the impact behind it- obviously because they weren't there. So idk it could be a good idea, it could be an absolute garbage fire, we'll see
I'm gonna try to continue documenting my thoughts as I go through this series! I think it'll be fun to look back on when it's over :D
kitty
was listening to The Elders' Quest audiobook and doodled some of the characters :) From left to right, Tawnypelt, Moonpaw, Crowfeather and Leafstar.
warrior cats wasn’t planned in advance so i know this scene wouldn’t have been possible when dangerous path was written but god fucking damn would i have killed for a scene where tigerstar is standing over bluestar, murderous and heaving, and bluestar is looking back up at him wild-eyed and angry, before a moment of clarity hits her and she says in a very low voice, so quiet that tigerstar can barely hear it: i’m sorry that i didn’t protect you from thistleclaw. i kept everyone else safe from him but you.
out with the...
