Shrimpo grumbled curses under his breath as he stormed through Gardenview, practically fuming with rage. He’d already woken up angry that day, and Gigi pissing him off further only made him feel worse. He swore to heck he would sucker punch the next person he—

“Hey, Shrimpo!” 

He yelped when arms suddenly wrapped around his waist and yanked him backward. He landed with a light thump against Goob’s chest. “What the—!? LET ME GO!!” Shrimpo struggled in his hold, unable to escape from the industrial strength hug. Goob giggled, only squeezing the flailing shrimp closer to his body. “No can do! I can tell you’re upset, so I’m gonna hug you until you feel better!” He chimed matter-of-factly, much to Shrimpo’s growing agitation. “I HATE HUGS!!!” He exclaimed, flapping his arms and narrowly missing slapping Goob in the face. “Hmm…Well, then how about a…” He hesitated, an innocently mischievous smile etching its way onto his face, “Tickle hug!” Goob exclaimed cheerily, fingers digging lightly into his sides. 

Shrimpo practically squawked, hands instantly flying down to grab at the arms around him. “NO- Nono-! Goob I SWEAR-!!” He let out a strangled noise when the fingers started moving, clawing into his side roughly. “C’mon, Shrimpo! You can’t stay grumpy forever! Tickle tickle!” Goob cooed, noticing Shrimpo’s struggling dying down to focus his energy on containing his laughter. “You’ll feel soooo much better, I promise!” He scribbled his fingers over to his tummy and heard his breath stutter. “N-no- I- mhg! I woho- eeik-!” Shrimpo hissed out, trying his best to force the edges of his lips back down, “I won’t- pffft— NOHAHAhahAHAHAA—!!” He squealed, cackles flowing from the poor shrimp like a waterfall. 

“Yayy!!” Goob cheered, running his fingers up and down his stomach. “G- GOHOHOOB- EEHEHEEE NOHOHO!!” He flailed desperately, making any and all attempt to attack the fluffy craft hugging him tightly. Yet, he couldn’t deny to himself that the claws dancing over his torso were making his head pleasantly fuzzy, driving out his previous anger — he’d never let Goob know that, though, he had a sneaking suspicion he might already know.

“AHAHAHAA- snrt—!” Goob gasped in delight. “Was that a snort!? Awww!!” He squealed, giving him a quick taze to the side and earning yet another adorable snort. “NOHOHO MOHOHORE— NYAHAHAHA!!” Goob hummed in thought, lightening up his tickles to gentle spidering. “I don’t knowww…are you cheered up yet?” Shrimpo whined through his laughter. “YehehEHES I’m- IhehEHEim cheehEHered— uhuhup!!” He babbled, cheeks glowing bright red. Goob giggled. 

“Okay, okay, I believe you.” He relented, letting Shrimpo go limp in his arms, panting softly. They stayed there for several minutes, then Goob let him go, leaving a hand on his shoulder in case he stumbled over. 

There was a pause, then Shrimpo spoke, barely audible; “…Thanks, I guess.” “Aw, of course!!” Goob gushed, practically beaming with joy. 

“…If you tell anyone about this I’m gonna throttle you, though.”

“Understood!”

“Hey, Astro! Look what I found!”

Astro turned to see a beaming Dandy with an array of paint tubes and paint brushes in his hands, grinning ear-to-ear with excitement. Astro smiled. “Nice! But, uh, we don’t have any paper…” Dandy scoffed at his concerns, waving his hand flippantly. “Paper schmaper, we have a floor!” He exclaimed. Astro chuckled.

Soon enough, they were both sitting on the floor before a scape of paintings, mostly of each other with an occasional Pebble. Astro hummed under his breath as he painted, barely noticing his blanket had fallen from his shoulders and bunched around his waist. Usually he always kept his comfort item tightly wrapped around himself, but around Dandy he felt…safe. 

Dandy didn’t seem to realize this, however, immediately alerting him once he’d noticed, “Oh! Hey, Astro, your blanket is-“ Astro looked up and blinked, snapped out of his thoughts. “Hm? Oh,” He gave a half-shrug, returning to his work, “That’s fine.” Dandy fell silent for a couple beats, then giggled mischievously, right before Astro felt the end of a brush slide across the spot between his shoulder blades. He jumped, letting out a startled squeak. “H-hey- what-!” The sensations continued, cold bristles dragging across his skin and leaving behind a glossy trail he recognized by texture as paint. “W-wahahait- eehehehe!” His shoulders shook as he laughed softly, his top set of hands reaching up to cover his growing smile. “Stay still, Astro! I’m trying to paint my masterpiece!” Dandy chimed in faux-annoyance, a giggle following the words when he watched the moon try his very best to stay still as requested…

…and fail, shoulders shooting up when the bristles brushed up against the back of his neck. 

“Astrooo, c’mon! You can’t be that ticklish, can you?” He teased, swiping the brush across his mid-back. “Dahahandyhy!” Astro whined, his second set of hands hiding his flushed-red cheeks. Dandy paused a couple times to change paint colors, letting Astro steady his breathing for just a moment before the cold brush returned and he melted back into giggles. 

“You’re sohoho meeaaan!” The moon complained, though his giddiness was quite evident in his tone. Dandy scoffed in ‘exasperation’. “Your fault for being so cute.” He retorted, grinning when Astro only went redder at the comment, squirming from both the embarrassment and the continuous light touches that now traced up and down his spine. 

After what felt like hours, Dandy pulled away, setting his brush to the side and admiring his work. “Done!” He chimed proudly. Astro caught his breath, smile not leaving his face. “W-whahat did you- youhu pahahaint?” “Us hugging!!” Astro snorted, turning to face him with a soft amusement in his eyes. “You’re silly.”

“You love it!”

“…Yeah, I do.”
