LOOK AT HIM!!!š This poor man is going to have so many back problems from all that trauma heās carrying⦠Manās needs a chiropractor. But for real, THIS IS SO COOL!!!
Just love my old man in this fic -> Great Decisions by @rydoesartandstuff
So freaking cutešš
Quick question, if you were to do an ages reversed Au with the brothers (Branches as eldest, JD youngest, ect), what do you think would change about the story, just off the top of your head?
Ooooo this is tricky, ok uh⦠(Edit: I based this off of Great Decisions btw, Iām sorry, I didnāt read closely enoughš)
Branch - I think he would be a bit of an overbearing older brother. Not in JDās perfectionistic way, but more like being in everyoneās business. He definitely has a schedule on each of them regarding their activities. He doesnāt want them to be perfect, but he expects them to listen, and is a bit self centered sometimes. Likely, Branch wouldnāt have left the tree. And unlike John Dory, he despises their father for what he did, and is similar to Grandma Rosiepuff in that sense where he refuses to talk about it. Also unlike JD, he did not drop out of school, Grandma Rosiepuff would be a lot more willing to help in this situation.
Floyd - It was Floydās idea to start BroZone to help his brother out (Branch was doing a bunch of jobs and wasnāt home too much). When the perfect family harmony fell apart, he was mortified, thinking he ruined everything, and ran. He had no idea Spruce followed after him.
Clay - His storylineās about the same. He and Branch argued over many things, but more so life stuff vs band stuff, and when Floyd and Spruce disappeared, he left to live with King Peppy. He went missing in the tunnels running back to find his brothersā¦
Spruce - Spruce took the role of a mediator in this timeline. Floyd was really stressed all the time, so Spruce would typically step in and use his baby brother privilege to get Branch and Clay to stop arguing. He was always very good with baby JD. When he saw Floyd taking off, he followed him. But by the time he convince his brother to come back, it was too late, and they were lost.
JD - He had much more support growing up. Branch figured out he was dyslexic pretty quick, and helped him with learning to read. A bit of his perfectionism showed through, but it wasnt much till he got older. He was the one who Grandma Rosiepuff sacrificed herself to save, and after that happened, he took off. And Branch went after him. When they returned, they saw the decimated tree and collapsed tunnels, and despite his investigations, Branch figured the trolls were gone.
Instead of going to the Neverglade, they just lived in the woods, Branch just taking them as far as he could from Bergentown, his paranoia starting. They never found Rhonda. Because Branch is a bit more cautious, he did not gather that many injuries. And they likely found Troll Village sooner.
Branch was also able to pick up on the early warning signs of JDās mental health problems.
AH! I hope that was ok! I tried, but gosh man, that is a tricky one!!!
you ever see a post so compelling it immediately makes you drop whatever else you were working on

THE WAY I IMMEDIATELY GRINNED WHEN I SAW THIS
Omg heās literally so cuteš That poor little birthday man! I was reading āSunrise on the Reapingā, and (SPOILERS) found out Haymitchās bday was on reaping day, and was just like, thatās my boi John Dory right thereš Luckily my birthday did not involve the ceremonial death of my friends and family, so like, L to those guysā¦
Also, immediately thought of this scene, real time footage of me and this art:
Happy Birthday @rydoesartandstuff !!! š š„³
And congrats on the 100th chapter!
Is this the third drawing I've made for this fic this week? Yes. Do I care? No.
Imma keep posting fanart of this fic till I drop!
Sad book club meeting
I think about this line a lot actually.
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH?! THAT SAD LITTLE MAN!? MY SHAYLAš©šš ALSO HICKORY MY BELOVED STOP IM DYING I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!
Great decision sketches :P
he didn't mean it
How would you rank the Trolls villains? Is one easier to write than others?
Oooo I really donāt know how to rank them? Danger levels? Evil levels?! IDK! Iām sorry, I really donāt know how to rank them, but I will say what I like about each one!
Creek was really fun to write, because I was given a chance to build up his character from a young age! Early teasings of him being an actual psychopath, building the mystery, the works! And Chef was just brutal, so writing the violence of her, mixed in with Creek was just MWAH! Satisfying to my twisted little soul.
But Barb was also just a fun character to write, I loved that I got to hype her up to be this merciless villain⦠Just for her to not be like that at all. I really liked her struggle, the different pov she had, and the very real conflict! And I love writing her lines, she has some really good ones!
As for Velvet and Veneer⦠Iām am VERY excited to show you all my plans for them! They are going to be fun villains for sureš
Anatomy practice ft. John :P
Ry, why do you torture JD so much?
Great question. Answer? ā¦Idk
I donāt know why his character just CLICKED for me. Maybe itās the older sibling perfectionism in me that Iām just like yes, that man⦠He is me. Letās make him sufferš
But truly, I just love writing him, and I love writing angst, so⦠RIP to that man, his fault for being so DAMN LIKEABLE. Plus like, he just has SO much angst potential, I canāt help itš
I make art and write on AO3! Check it out @rytheoneandonly
