VA’s Pose Addon has always been an essential part of my game, but it’s no secret that it had a few quirks and issues. While fixing those, I couldn’t resist adding some exciting new features to take it to the next level!

Why Not Use Virtual Artisan's Pose Box with this mod?

This mod is an update to their original mod! Since it’s no longer available on their website, I decided to fully integrate it into this mod.

What does that mean?

This mod includes VA’s Pose Addon, so you don’t need to download it separately. Just make sure to delete the old version to avoid any glitches or conflicts! 😊

⭐ New Features:

Most things that are mine can be found under "Photo Shooting" > "Lyralei's Pose Addon".

👀Better Look at

Ever posed a sim to look at something next to them, but they do this weird "eye roll-y" and "nudging slightly to the left" type of look at?

Or maybe you simply wanted to make the eyes look somewhere and not the head?

Let's check it out:

Left = Va's Pose addon - Right = Lyralei's Pose Addon.

To get started, first pose your Sim as usual! Once they’re in position, simply click "Look At..." to make it work.

Look at with just the eyes:

As mentioned, you can also just move certain parts of the body! In this case, the eyes!

(Left: No Look At, Middle = Looking left, Right = Looking up)

This is done with something called a "Track Mask". When selected, the only parts of the sim will move that fit the chosen trackmask.

For example: Track Mask "EyesOnly" will ONLY animate the eyes!

Blending Poses

Can't find a pose online that fits your needs, but you do have 2 poses that would totally fix that?

Not a problem anymore! With "Pose Blending" you can use a pose "base" and then overlay another pose to create your own dynamic poses!

Here are some examples!

On both cases, we have the "base" pose on the left. Then I have chosen to blend it with the pose in the middle, to get this as an end result! :)

How to:

First, pose your sim as you normally would

Go to "Photo shooting..." > "Lyralei's Pose Addon..." > "Utils..." > "Blend" > Choose whichever option you'd like to use! :)

Pick the Track Mask you'd like to apply. If you only want the upperbody to be affected, click that option.

Click/type in the pose you want to blend it with....

And tada!

Sitting/Laying poses:

Even that's possible! :) Keep in mind, though: The base pose HAS to sit/lay/etc. Otherwise, your sim will elevate!

Categorised Pose List

Frustrated because every time you want to grab a pose from your list, it takes 3455325352 years for the list to load? Well, wait no more!

Completely customizable through XML, you can now sort poses in their own respective categories!

Need a sitting pose? no problem! Just go to Lyralei's Pose Addon > Take pose From... > Common List > Sitting, and there you have all your sitting poses! :)

Can I customise this list myself?

🕰️ Show History

The Add-on remembers your pose history!

Whether you’re a dedicated “Pose by Name” user or prefer the simplicity of “Show by List”, both options now display your pose history for quick reference.

Note: Each Sim has their own individual history list. This means you’ll only see the pose history for Sim X when clicking on them, and not for Sim Y.

What did I fix for Virtual Artisan's Pose Addon?

I've made sure to keep everything as it used to (and if I made a replacement for it, it's now labeled with "[LEGACY]" at the beginning of the interaction).

But, of course there were some bugs that came with it.

Changelist:

There is now an interaction that uses both look at & reaction simultaneously. (In case you don't want to use my look at interaction).

Fixed an issue where reactions would sometimes or never show on the sim.

Fixed an issue where sims didn't always want to look at the item.

Fixed an issue where certain poses get called twice, making it harder to keep reactions or even look at history data.

Optimised the code here and there.

Most interactions will now continue on posing your sim if you exited out of the interaction, rather than resetting it. (this counts for "Change Expression" and "Look At").

You also had a hard time making friends, which I why you completely focused on your studies. Once you’ve graduated high school, you realize you’re burnt out. You move to Hidden Springs in search for some relaxation and to escape the paparazzi. It’s time to take things slow and focus on yourself. Once you feel like yourself again, you decide you want to become a doctor and help other Sims. Generation Six: Sunlit Tides You never had to worry about money. You quickly get married to your partner and spend your honeymoon in the beautiful Sunlit Tides. You decide to never leave. Lucky Palms was nice, but it was very dry. You spend your days painting, writing and relaxing at the beautiful beaches while your partner works a shady job. You never planned to have kids, but one day you get bored and have an affair, and woops, there’s a baby! Will you keep this a secret? Or will your partner find out? Traits: Loves the heat, Loves to swim, Hates children, Snob, Artistic Lifetime wish: Illustrious Author Career: A job? What is that?

Marry the first sim week of being a young adult

WIP Update (Pottery Mod etc.)

Heyo, figured I'd give an update on my WIPs, especially as I mentioned previously about making a post about the pottery mod and proceeded to not do that...

Long story short, I had to take a break from working on the pottery mod for a little while, then I didn't pick it back up when I could, became afraid to look at it, started other WIPs including a cow mod and a script modding tutorial project, and now am working on a project tangential to the pottery mod - a material state editor tool! I'm pretty excited about it because I'm diving into using S3PI and I'm honestly just surprised it's working out so far. This tool should make it less tedious to add all the glaze types to the ceramics for the pottery mod, and maybe someone else will find it useful too! At least my future self will if I make another mod that involves objects with material states... otherwise it's me spending 50 hours working on a tool to automate something that might take 5 hours! Yay technology...! I'm also hoping this post will help get me back into working on the pottery mod itself... I already had to fix a problem I so kindly left for myself in the code before I stopped working on it, in order to finish getting the screenshots, so that's good?

Anyway here is an overview of the pottery mod so far, and my plans for it:

Interaction

I have a Make Ceramic interaction, with the converted sims 4 pottery wheel, where you can pick the ceramic to make and the sim will sit at the wheel, and make it! I still have more animations to convert but I might not do all of them for simplicity's sake.

Skill

Currently just have a basic pottery skill, which will determine which items your sim can make, but I could add a couple of skill stats and maybe challenges.

Objects

I've also made some progress on converting the sims 4 pottery objects, but it will also be easy to add other objects to the XML file if you want.

Glazing

I also have an XML set up for selectable glazes, so you can pick in game which sims 4 glaze you want for the sims 4 objects, as well as a default one which will be fully CAStable. It's therefore possible to add selectable glazes to other objects, but you'll need to be comfortable adding the textures as material states rather than regular presets. But CASt has you covered anyway :p

Kiln

The kiln object is where you finish the ceramics, either choosing a sims 4 glaze or a normal CAStable version. Sims 4 has the kiln process be almost instant, but I have it so the ceramic will take a few hours to finish and your sim can come and pick it up later - like the nectar machine from WA.

Still to do:

Finish converting the sims 4 ceramics

Set up the glazes for them

Add more pottery animations

Skill improvements

Add sounds to wheel and kiln

MonocoDoll's Vile Ventures 1.1.1 Update

It's been a short while since the last update for Vile Ventures. For the last month, I have been working on a small quality of life improvement update. As well as a small Menstrual Cycle mod that will release the same time as this quality of life improvement update. The 1.1.1 version of Vile Ventures can be located in either Simblr.CC or LoversLab.

Ingame Tunables:

You will no longer have to enter the Package file for Vile Ventures and edit the XML Tunable file to make edits. Nor, will you have to exit your game when you desire to change a tunable. You can now directly change a tunable while you are in the game.

All tunables for Vile Ventures are included and were attempted to be organized as possible.

Drugs Will Now Inform You How Much Uses They Have:

You can now hover over a Drug Object such as a a White Widow Baggy and it will inform you of the amount of uses it has left.

Display Timer For Curing Cannabis, Cocaine Bricks, Meth Packages, Drying Tobacco Leaves, and Aging Tobacco.

AutoSoil For Drug Plants

All drug plants now have an AutoSoil version. 6 Cannabis Strains, Coca Plant, Opium Plant, Tobacco Plant, and Shrooms.

These are mainly used for: "plants have an "autosoil" version that can usually be found in buydebug. If you use that version of the plant, it will always be at a mature stage. If that plant is on a community lot instead of residential, it will never die and even produce some harvest every now and then."

Fixed Missing Icon For Coca Leaf Ingredient

Fixed Issue With Fertilizer Strength For Drug Plants Showing as Unlocalized String

Fixed Issue Where OnlySims Comments Appeared as ___ . This was previously the case due to me using Emoji's and the game not being able to make them appear. Loveternity has completely editted out the emojis 🤗

Fixed issue where newborn babies could select the Drug Dealing trait as one of their beginner traits. 😭

Fixed issue where Teenagers could not take Selfies or use a video camera for Simstagram.

Fixed issue where Talk About Drug Study and Tell Funny Drug Story is viewable for other household members.
