Cool thing about this is that it is almost a completely outdated idea in that it isn't really necessary anymore, but you can't easily move a whole city. It was originally because when those areas flooded and then receded it would leave far more fertile soil, the Nile is the most famous example. So when people started farming they needed to stay in one place and the place where all the fish and yearly refertilised soil and a body of water for irrigation are is really nice. Later trade was a lot harder over land so coastal cities near rivers were important trade hubs, so there were more jobs, so more migrants, so more people and bigger cities. Nowadays overland logistics networks are efficient enough that inland cities have a lot easier of a time existing. So that's cool.

A description of Lord of the Rings by someone who has only seen parts of it and heard things from their sister:
Eye of ra
Goblin: riiiinnng
They're at the house and Hagrid.. no Dumbledore no.. opens the envelope with the ring then he gets and him and his friend leave. Then they see the eye of ra in the distance. And then they're walking and Dumbledore and Saurumon (guy with the long mustache) fight over how to use the ring. There's like eight rings right? Nine? Whenever you wear the ring you get obsessed and decay like Goblin. They're at the long bridge with like the dragon and then he's like "You shall not pass!" Then the dragon slashes his tail and Dumbledore falls. Legolas the minotaur helps them in the river when they're in the barrels by shooting arrows. Then they get ambushed by Voldemort in the barrels. Then they go back to the shire. They are sad that Hagrid (Dumbledore) is dead. Happily ever after.
HI HOW ARE YOU
I am fine, thank you. How are you?
One of many waterfalls coming down Stokkfjellet. Doesn't seem like any of them have names, or at least none that I have been able to find.
One time I had something that I thought was very simple set up. One of the players was absent so I thought I'd make a cool little quest for them to go on once they finished the one they were on by setting up a trap to send the absent player to the Astral plane once they walked through the door to a vault.
They refused to cut and run (with the copious amount of gold that they would have gotten) and spent a huge amount of time doing perception checks on things that weren't hiding anything. They rolled four nat 1s in a row, so they went temporarily blind and God explained a few things.
So then they went to the Astral plane and got the party member back and one of them got a rabbit made of sand as a familiar. So all in all it went pretty well I guess.
