Damien stood staring at y/n from a distance, leaning against a nearby wall and occasionally taking a sip from his red solo cup. Which was filled with horrible tasting cheap beer. Damien liked to people watch, even though it seemed odd to, he felt comfort in doing so. Although, would it count as people watching if he was just watching one person?

He watched as she danced around the room, jumping around and singing along to the songs. He wasn’t one to admire from a far, if this person was just aperson, he would’ve walking up to them and made small talk. Maybe going back to ones house for the night. But no, this was the person. 

Damien remembers it like it was yesterday. The way she looked when it happened, happy and care free. Then the tears covering her face in a blink of an eye. He still feels regret about what he said, if he hadn’t been so young, so dumb. He could tell she was angry, so angry she couldn’t speak. Young Damien couldn’t find it in himself to say anything to at least try and make up for his mistake. ‘It was the right thing to do.’ he remembers thinking to himself. 

Oh how stupid he was. Letting her go.

So there he stood, person watching. Drinking his disgusting beer, regretting past relationships, and sulking in the corner of the room. Watching as she bloomed. He hated himself for it, he hated the way he still loved her. He hated how much of in idiot he was. Therapy does funny things to you when you’re finally in a better head space. Damien finds himself wondering if she ever wondered why he never soothe her fevers, why they never tied her shoes, and why he never held her gently. Damien hated making her feel that way, he wished to be her anchor.
