New Part: 10 Lethal Injury Ideas
If you need a simple way to make your characters feel pain, here are some ideas:
1. Sprained Ankle
A common injury that can severely limit mobility. This is useful because your characters will have to experience a mild struggle and adapt their plans to their new lack of mobiliy. Perfect to add tension to a chase scene.
2. Rib Contusion
A painful bruise on the ribs can make breathing difficult, helping you sneak in those ragged wheezes during a fight scene. Could also be used for something sport-related! It's impactful enough to leave a lingering pain but not enough to hinder their overall movement.
3. Concussions
This common brain injury can lead to confusion, dizziness, and mood swings, affecting a character’s judgment heavily. It can also cause mild amnesia.
I enjoy using concussions when you need another character to subtly take over the fight/scene, it's an easy way to switch POVs. You could also use it if you need a 'cute' recovery moment with A and B.
4. Fractured Finger
A broken finger can complicate tasks that require fine motor skills. This would be perfect for characters like artists, writers, etc. Or, a fighter who brushes it off as nothing till they try to throw a punch and are hit with pain.
5. Road Rash
Road rash is an abrasion caused by friction. Aka scraping skin. The raw, painful sting resulting from a fall can be a quick but effective way to add pain to your writing. Tip: it's great if you need a mild injury for a child.
6. Shoulder Dislocation
This injury can be excruciating and often leads to an inability to use one arm, forcing characters to confront their limitations while adding urgency to their situation. Good for torture scenes.
7. Deep Laceration
A deep laceration is a cut that requires stitches. As someone who got stitches as a kid, they really aren't that bad! A 2-3 inch wound (in length) provides just enough pain and blood to add that dramatic flair to your writing while not severely deterring your character.
This is also a great wound to look back on since it often scars. Note: the deeper and wider the cut the worse your character's condition. Don't give them a 5 inch deep gash and call that mild.
8. Burns
Whether from fire, chemicals, or hot surfaces, burns can cause intense suffering and lingering trauma. Like the previous injury, the lasting physical and emotional trauma of a burn is a great wound for characters to look back on.
If you want to explore writing burns, read here.
9. Pulled Muscle
This can create ongoing pain and restrict movement, offering a window to force your character to lean on another. Note: I personally use muscle related injuries when I want to focus more on the pain and sprains to focus on a lack of mobility.
10. Tendonitis
Inflammation of a tendon can cause chronic pain and limit a character's ability to perform tasks they usually take for granted. When exploring tendonitis make sure you research well as this can easily turn into a more severe injury.
This is a quick, brief list of ideas to provide writers inspiration. Since it is a shorter blog, I have not covered the injuries in detail. This is inspiration, not a thorough guide. Happy writing! :)

Iam reaching out to ask for your help in funding the medication needed for my injured face. I recently sustained an injury that has left me in need of specialized medication to aid in my healing process. Unfortunately, the cost of these medications is quite high and is not covered by my insurance.I would greatly appreciate any support you can provide in helping me cover the cost of these necessary medications. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in my recovery journey.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.https://gofund.me/e2d7538e

Welp it’s Halloween again which apparently means me either beating Roy up or being really really nice and fluffy to him (~ ̄▽ ̄)~ Also damn this ambidextrous man like seriously dude wth
Jason hates being reminded of his time in the warehouse, so he eliminates all connection to it, even if it takes extreme measures.
I need to stop giving extremely traumatized characters more trauma. This is from before the Bats learned about Red Hood
Part 3!!! This is the finale part! As you can see Jason does feel a teeny tiny bit of guilt for what happened but he’ll probably never admit it out loud. Also I don’t think Tim’s hero worship for Jason ever truly went away, even after all the murder attempts.
Part 1
Part 2
Okay so I know that Mic isn’t with Aizawa in the chapter, but I was thinking, what if he was? What if Aizawa cut off his leg, got his eye all scratched up, then still was trying to keep erasure activated even as he’s barely staying conscious. (I’m not sure, but in 282 you can see his eyes are a tiny bit open and in 283 his hair is like, trying to float but isn’t quite floating.)
I’m actually wondering which of the two fights Mic will go to now that he isn’t watching the doctor. He can either go to the fight against Shigaraki and we can see his reaction to Aizawa being badly injured, or he can go fight Gigantomachia and the stampede of villains he has following him. I’m not sure which he’ll choose, but I’m super excited and nervous to see what happens!!!
@eternalglitch This is just me imagining the first time Leo initiates a touch. It makes sense to me that it’d be Donnie. Hope you like 👉 👈
I have another one coming that makes more sense in color, too :) Thanks for the heartache fodder!!!

___________
Hey 8′D So the backstory for this is pretty much over in this post (contains spoilers). This’ll be a short comic, only 38 pages, ‘cause it was actually supposed to be shorter but my brain ran off on too many details |D
One thing I will mention though is that I almost completely skip the fight scene in this, so if you’re looking forward to that, my bad. I don’t want to draw a fight scene in a comic just yet, I’m still a noob at comics.
Also there’ll be no set update schedule. I’m a busy woman and also too much of a perfectionist XDD I also have a bad habit of working on the pages that are more interesting to me at the moment, even if they aren’t the next ones in order. But I’ll try to upload multiple pages at a time. I started this on Nov 1, 2022, and only have 14/38 pages “finished”, I am very slow, so be patient X’DDD
Ok wtf nobody told me washing dishes was dangerous like dude 😞
Writing Prompt #29
"How's sleeping beauty now that he's finally woken up?"
"Dude, you literally hit me in the head with a baseball bat!"
Writing Prompt #5
The Hero of the story is near-constantly injured thanks to frequent attacks by villains, hence why they require two doctors to take care of them.
The doctors, A and B, tend to not get along very well, but are willing to take a bullet for the Hero at any time.
However, this time around they couldn't, and now they face the struggle of having to work together to save the Hero's life.
The question is: do A and B grit their teeth and get through it, or does their pride get in the way at the cost of Hero's life?
I dont know if it has been done yet, but HIGH HIGH HIGGGGGHHH REC for "Somewhere a clock is Ticking" by seven league boots (memphis)!!!!!! like, omg, it was a klance fic that I hadnt even been looking for and got me back all the vld feels without all the problematically argument-forming portions of the recent seasons!!! peeps, please please read and support this wonderful author!!!

This is a story about time travel, lost memories, growing up broken, ukulele lessons, peanut butter banana sandwiches, and a stuffed hippo named Patches.
This is also the story of how James Griffin saved the world, but couldn’t stop his parents from falling in love.

my short lil CoC campaign wrapped up this week and i,,, HAVE to dump about my character and what happened cus DAMN
tws: gore/injury, horror, general traumatic things yknow - scroll at your own risk
SO my character was Laney Harlow :) a silly little zookeeper from florida helping her bestie Evan Morrgan move from georgia to montana, where the campaign took place!! they arrived at Aurora Point, a tourist location known for its cryptid myth: The Aurora Point Angel... but it wasn't just a myth.
Laney and Evan were the sole survivors of the Aurora Point incident, the other 3 members of their party either becoming infected by the "bugs" or dying to them. In the end, the town was blown sky high, Evan left to resuscitate her best friend in the wake of their own explosion that took out the Brood Mother. Evan succeeded, recalling how Laney had taught her CPR and saved her life, but both were changed forever.
Evan survived with 3 HP and 14 Sanity, while Laney survived on 1 HP and 5 Sanity, past her insanity threshold of 15, leaving her indefinitely insane until she received help.
Nonspecific-species reptilian sniper.
One of my favourite simple yet effective whump tropes??
Pistol whipped!
Maybe they’re on their knees, held at gun point yet still quippy and sarcastic. Their captor gets fed up and with one quick strike, they crumple to the ground, out cold.
Kidnapping whump can be so good, theres so many options,,,
Do they get drugged and wake up in an unfamiliar place?? Do they get a gun dug into their back and a whispered threat to comply?? Do they get jumped on the street and manhandled into a van??
What about once they’re there?? How do they react?? Are they stoic and unbreakable?? Defiant and quippy?? Or are they terrified, begging to be let go?? Do they cry?? Scream?? Or stay silent no matter what??
And what do their captors want?? Information?? Does b tell?? Or perhaps they want to send a message, to hurt someone close to b. Or maybe its personal, maybe they just want b.
What do they do to b?? Just rough them up a bit?? A couple strong punches or kicks?? Some threats, maybe?? Or do they go further?? Broken fingers, water boarding, whips?? Severed toes, extracted teeth, eye puncture?? Do they condition them or use non con or dehumanize them??
How does it end?? Are they rescued by their team, friends, caretaker or even enemy?? Do they escape on their own or with other victims?? Are they set free, after the captors are done with them?? Does their story end with the sweet release of death?? Or does it never end??
Ahhhhh, kidnapping,,,
((Any feedback is greatly appreciated!))
@broken-lycan asked:
Hi I wanted to ask if you have prompts for emotional whump with two characters who saved each other's lives and are close friends? Perhaps with some injury caretaking like changing bandages or something like that? I really want to write something for two specific characters but am lacking ideas (even with whumptober coming up believe it or not) xD
Thanks in advance and I hope you have a good day! Your blog is such a good inspiration :D
Thank you for the kind words! So sorry this was pushed back due to my WT schedule, I hope you have a fun time!
I can give it a go:
"Why do you always do this?" / "Because you're always getting into trouble." - This could be seen in two ways: this could be the caretaker questioning why the whumpee gets into trouble, or the whumpee asking the caretaker why they always patch them up.
"I owe you one." / "You could start by not being so stupid."
"Is this the shirt I got you for your birthday?" / "Yeah... to be fair, I wasn't expecting [this injury] to happen."
"I can't believe you took that hit for me." / "It was your round the next time we're at the bar. Can't pass up that opportunity..."
"Does it hurt?" / "Not as much as my ego." / "[B], Be serious..." / "Of course it hurts, but it's easier to get it over with. I knew what I signed up for."
"I'll keep watch - don't argue - you're just gonna be stuck with me for a while." / "Wouldn't have it any other way."
"Would you sit still?" / "You sound like my mother." / "Hey, show [B's mothers name] some respect!" / "It disturbs me how close the two of you are." / "You don't call her enough. I'll be over for Christmas dinner."
"I should become a nurse with how much I have to do this. I get plenty of practice with you." / "Admit it, you'd miss patching me up." / "Let me get back to you on that one."
Anon asked:
Do you have any collars and dehumanization prompts?
I have a couple:
“Hello, pet.”
The whumper removes any instance of the whumpees names/nicknames. They are just ‘pet’ (or whatever else the owner wants to call them.) They’re not even called ‘blue eyes’ or ‘blondie’ etc.
The collar is one of those barbed ones, or a loop leash that tightens if the whumpee strays too far.
Maybe they’re kept at the whumpers side - forever forced to crawl by them/sit on their haunches.
It takes a long time for them to learn the behaviour… and it'll take even longer for them to unlearn it when they’re rescued.
The whumpee could eventually turn feral - taking on characteristics of a pet.
Maybe the whumper has a ‘pack’ of pets - I can imagine the new addition being unwelcome/being forced to fight for their food.
They’re fed in a bowl on the floor.
If they’re good they’re given treats (small biscuits, scraps of meat etc)
Over time, they feel anxious if they don’t have a collar around their neck. At first it’s claustrophobic, but then they feel too exposed without it.
Loss of consciousness
whipped on the back
Needle to the neck
Chased while injured
whipped on the back
Strangled by a cord
