I feel like the only reason those of us who aren't in the US are watching the inauguration today is the sort of morbid curiosity that makes people watch a car crash. It honestly feels like I'm watching people's lives and freedoms be crushed in real time.

Yes, to all of the above. As someone on the autism spectrum I have no room to judge people for being weird. So you let your freak flag fly and go wild!

Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, it is up to I, the only fucking cishet on tumblr, to drag this out to a wider audience.

so, today we, russian queers, may become "extremists" by decision of russian supreme court and thus our existence will be silenced and erased. any queer activism will be impossible for us. I don't know what to do anymore. I was heartbroken when they passed the laws about "gay propaganda" and transgender people, now I'm just numb. I don't want to escape. I just want to live safely in my own country.

please hear us.

i was scrolling for youtube trying to find my identity and stuff, but oh my god, what the hell was youtube reccommending-!?

okay i'll just say it, I'm an asexual, non-binary person, still questioning who I am attracted to, but I am trying!

so I wanted to watch non-binary content, but youtube had a different idea- it showed the second result "non-binary cringe"

HUH!? ITS PRIDE MONTH AND PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING THIS!?

I was only on non-binary on searchbar, so what-- and WHY was I seeing SO MUCH homophobia!? ON PRIDE MONTH!

I'm non-binary, and people wont stop calling me it, and now I'm seeing people like me on cringe compalibation thumbnails.

what the fuck.

screw it, that shits not okay. everyone in the LGBTQ+ community is valid and amazing and recognized and loved, so I want everyone to know that!

Write👏trans👏essays👏

Write them. Just do it. Write essays asking questions about trans identities in media and literature. Write them about trans history and its impacts. Write them about scientific findings on trans identities. Write them about yourself! And your own trans experiences! It's a great way to examine your own thoughts on your identity.

Right now, when so many misconceptions on trans identities are being pushed onto us, I feel like we need these resources more than ever. Even if you don't think you can write, even if you think essays are boring. You don't have to share them with anyone, but just doing the research, answering questions for yourself about our existence and history is something I feel is worthwhile.

Don't let people tell you it's too controversial or that you're pulling something out of nothing. Write the essay.

Say it with me now:

They will not trick me into fearing my neighbors

They will not trick me into turning against friends

They will not trick me into turning against coworkers

They will not convince me I am powerless

They will not convince me I am worthless

They will not convince me I am hateful

You're smarter, kinder, and braver than you think you are. Don't let some old incompotent political leaders convince you otherwise.

To any and all trans people in the states, and especially trans kids, know it's going to be okay. We have endured in the past, and we will endure again. The biggest mistake they made was letting us know what it is to have freedom of expression, and now we know. We know what we're fighting for and what they're trying to take away from not just us but the generations of queer kids to come.

To any of the minors that may see this and who are terrified for their future, we care. We see you, and we love you, and we're going to keep fighting because you deserve every happy dream of a good life you have ever had.

The biggest thing I think anyone can ask of any trans or lgbtq+ person right now is just to stay with us. We're going to need your voice when we all start yelling. We need to make it fucking loud.

If I see one more account that has “communist”, “liberal”, or “anarchist” and they are transphobic idiots spewing love for a rich colonizer or simping for a celeb idiot who wears an “eat the rich” t shirt for a meme I’m gonna beat them with a book on leftist theory cause they clearly need a refresher.

THE RICH ARE NOT COMRADES AND NEVER WILL BE. STOP DEFENDING THEM YOU CLASS TRAITORS.

Every single rich person profits off the sweat and labor of the working class. Especially here in the west they abuse and exploit workers in the third world relying on sweat shops and slave labor for cheap goods. They abuse their positions and wealth to influence the gov to create tyranny and destroy our communities and families with unjust laws and “theocratic policies” forcing us to comply and conform to what they want.

Memes are fine but openly defending a rich pig cause they are “fighting for our rights” is garbage. You are not fighting for anyone’s rights you are posting whiney posts on the internet first off. Secondly they don’t fight for your rights they are using you as a tool to protect them from criticism and their just end. They would hunt you for fun if they had the power and no amount of “she’s a girl boss” or “he’s a sigma male” changes this.

Eat the rich or stay a slave you sheep but don’t pretend to be on the right side of history and slacktivist your bio and posts pretending to be something you aren’t. People aren’t that dumb anymore and we can see the hypocrisy and ignorance in your half hearted attempt to be edgy and “part of the community”

Now the terfs are attacking the bussy?

Lady don’t be jealous of the twinks and twonks just because they are cuter and more femme than you will ever be at their worst and your best.

Radblr, we need to stop defending gay men. They fetishize our bodies by calling their anus "pussy" and yet turn around and call bodies disgusting

They try to claim sisterhood so they can use slurs against us

They go over seas and exploit womens wombs for their picket fence fantasy

Stop caring about these men because at the end of the day they're men who exploit us just the same

Tags

I can’t recall a single time where I’ve had to defend my positions politically and socially like a terf does.

They stamp their feet throw tantrums when you point out being anti LGBTQ and pro tyranny isn’t a feminist position.

Ladies you realize feminism isn’t “kill all men” and is “stop the patriarchy” right? When you reinforce the misogynistic stereotypes and standards of social norms like “women have wombs and are for breeding” instead of pushing back against these superficial and patriarchal definitions of womanhood you give power to the wrong people and sing away your rights as we saw in the US and will see in the UK soon with bodily autonomy rights being stripped away.

You aren’t pro woman you are anti man and it makes you act like an idiot and empower the likes of trump and Putin when you give legitimacy to their claims of “western degeneracy needs to be crushed”.

This is why it’s always morally justified to bully these losers and dorks. Just like maga or a Nazi they are unfeeling freaks who can’t be convinced of their own stupidity and reformed. Therefore bully them hard so they fuck off and die mad somewhere.

Maybe it’s because my nation is falling head first and balls deep into fascism but I find the whining of the TERFs just annoying at this point.

People are being kidnapped, held without trial, raped, tortured and brutalized before being sent to a concentration camp in El Salvador AND we have prison corps making designs for more that including SHOWERS AND CREMATORIUMS and you Ms “radical feminism ya let’s smash the patriarchy” is whinging about trans people using a toilet and playing sports?

Go fuck yourself and I hope you die of fucking STIs you worthless bitch made crybaby who just wants to whine about men and has no actual interest in stopping atrocities or violence against women.

So she is sitting on a yacht that costs more money than 99% of us will make in a lifetime, drinking alcohol more expensive than your car per bottle, using more fossil fuels than an entire tank Battalion during the Iraq war, celebrating a court decision while mocking LGBTQ people after openly calling ace people “not queer” and after ignoring mass rape and kidnapping of women in the US by the trump regime …

The Tankies are right we need to just shoot anyone who makes more than 80k a year they are the oppressor class and aren’t even hiding it anymore

YES!!!! So much this!!!

I want to add some of my thoughts because I can't just scroll passed this without adding my opinion to the pot (for better or worse, tho I do hope for the better but if for worse I would like to know inhow and how I can improve myself)

First off I agree 100% that there should be more representation of different nonbinary people and experiences!!!!! Yes it's nice to already be represented but I do plan on keep fighting for representation till everyone feels seen and represented! Having representation of other nonbinary people that aren't white, able bodied or skinny doesn't mean all the representation for us white, able bodied, skinny people disappears! We and people like us can and will still find a lot of representation and a variety of people to look up to and be inspired by. However some people do not have this option yet! People might not even realize they are part of our community because our representation is so limited to these categories (white, able-bodied, skinny, often also afab and androgynous presenting) that they might assume they can't be part of our community since they don't fit into these categories.

Let's have any and all kind of nonbinary be widely represented so that anyone who questions their gender can come to our community and find themselves and recognize themselves in someone.

Another thing I'd like to add that is only partially related is, that I want people to know that not judging or putting people into male and female categories is hard. We are trained from an early age by our society that these are two very big and important categories that we are told we should distinguish people with. This is harmful in all sort of ways but that ain't the point. I think we already know that.

Something you might not know or need another reassurance with is that it is okay if you sometimes slip up and put people in a male/female box. I'm nonbinary and try to daily challenge my own view on gender but even I might see someone in the streets and "assign" them a gender or try to figure out if they were born afab or amab. But by reminding myself that it doesn't matter and that it's not really important to me what a strangers gender is who I pass on the streets I slowly teach myself to unlearn this hurtful way I was taught by living in a western country.

What I'm trying to say is that it's okay to sometimes slip up, if you but in the effort of seeing how this taught in thing of gendering strangers is harmful, not only to nonbinary people but it can be especially harmful to our community.

So please the next time you judge a person take a step back and ask yourself if it is really relevant to your live in that moment to know what genitalia this person might have.

You shouldn’t be treating nb people like the secret sexy 3rd gender. Nb people don’t look like a mash of male and female, they’re not sexy androgynous twinks

Happy Pride Month!!

Hey guys! So now that it’s pride month, I wanted to do something special for all my fellow queers! Give me a sexualitiy and/or gender identity, then give me a superpower. Every day I’ll draw them as OCs with that sexuality and superpower! If I don’t get to all the flags (which most likely will happen) you are still valid and you will always be loved!!

black and white photo of racehorses with their jockeys' faces barred out. red text reads "CAPITALIST FACISM SEEKS TO BREAK US OF OUR INTRINSIC DIGNITY" "DO NOT LET THEM BEAT YOU INTO SUBMISSION" "WE WILL PERSIST!" "UNITED IN BEAUTIFUL, TERRIFYING, UNENDING LOVE"

horses have been made into the ideal worker over thousands of years of breeding and domestication and yet now are made to race to the point of exhaustion and injury and sometimes death to entertain the rich if they fail they are killed and if they succeed they are spared until they stop succeeding and then they are killed

even the most successful racehorses often end up beaten and starving in kill pens despite spending their lives earning millions of dollars for their stables their owners and thousands of sports betters

humans and horses are alike in our struggle under the boot of uncaring aristocracy

do not forget the love that fuels you in your anger do not let them break you and make you into their idea of animals they do not know that animals too have love and courage and reason and camaraderie they do not know that we have always been animals and animals feel so much more than their beloved hate and fear

Don't you just LOVE how families work?

So, a while ago, I told my family, which consists of my Mom (33), Dad (37), little brother (10), and little sister (7), that I'm gender fluid.

A while back, before I told them, my sister and I dressed up our brother in a black and white checkered dress, a light pink petticoat underneath the dress, black high heels, a magenta scarf with silver sequins, and a light brown and black feminine sunhat. Afterwards, he let me do his makeup, too. We even gave him a gender bent name. Since then, we've dressed him up like that one other time.

After telling him what I meant when I told him I was gender fluid, he's started doing the same. Today, me, both of my siblings, my mom, and a friend of my sister's (also a 7 year old girl) were walking into town and my brother was walking in the front with myself and my mom bringing up the rear, the two girls in the middle. My mom started singing that "following the leader" song, finishing with "-wherever he may go." I joked around, saying, "Are you assuming his gender?" My mom responded with, "Yeah, until he tells me otherwise." So, I nudged my brother and said, "Well, are you going to tell her?" He shyly mumbled, with this slightly embarrassed grin, "I'm gender fluid." Our mother proceeded to ask what my brother identified as, getting a response of, "They/Them." She then proceeded to sing the ending of the same song, instead finishing with, "-wherever they may go," without asking questions or anything.

I've even talked to my mom about getting me masculine clothes to dress in since I only have feminine clothes. She really didn't care, and I mean that in the way of her completely accepting my request without any arguments or anything like that.

As much as I like how my parents accept me, it kinda hurts seeing as I have a friend who is asexual and pansexual (we like to joke around and say she's "a pan" because of this). The only issue is that her family's religion doesn't allow LGBTQ+. I'm not in any place to help her convince them otherwise, but instead am forced to watch from the sidelines. It especially hurts since her parents live on opposite sides of the country. She lives with her mom in Oregon (where I live, too) while her father lives in Georgia. Since she's semi intimidated by her father, it only makes it that much less possible for her to come out.

Now, I understand that it's pretty much impossible to change an adult's opinion on things like this, but I also know that the younger a person is, the easier it is to change their minds.

Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all either agreed to disagree or agreed that homophobia is honestly ridiculous? What is the point of homophobia? It doesn't hurt you or anything to even exist in the same space as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. What's the issue? We don't carry a disease or an infection or anything like that. I see no issues with us that should concern anyone.

Why don't we just get along? In the end, we're all still human.

Being trans nonbinary is so annoying because my brain is like "We have dysphoria, let's transition so we can pass!"

Pass as what?

It's so stupid hard to "pass" as androgynous to the general public. It's this obnoxiously thin line that feels completely out of reach to get to, at least not without giving up other forms of gender expression that feel euphoric to me. I wouldn't even mind not being fully androgynous, if nothing else I just want to make people stop and think for a second before they inevitably go ahead and misgender me anyways.

It sucks that the best I can hope for in terms of transition is confusion. I see trans binary folks talking about the euphoria they get from passing and being accepted in society as their true gender, having the ability to go stealth. And I desperately want that too. I wish people weren't so hellbent on sorting others into binaries at all costs, and I wish there was hrt that could make me androgynous without giving me other traits that I dont want (ex. facial hair, bottom growth, heavily masculine voice). I literally just want to be seen as who I actually am and it's crushing knowing Im probably never going to get to have that.

The last couple days have been, rough to say the least. For me and many others across the nation.

As an American I would lying if I said I wasn't slightly terrified right now. I just watched the president of my country get up on national tv and declare that I do not exist ("male and female are the only recognized genders") and his side hoe do a full on nazi salute, among other horrendous and hate-fueled statements.

Im lucky enough to live in Washington state, where the governor has openly stated he will fight to defend my rights as a queer person and someone capable of becoming pregnant. But there isn't much that can be done about civilian actions. I think there's a bit of a misconception about Washington throughout a lot of the nation, that most of the people living there are progressive and blue, but that isn't entirely the case. Outside of Seattle and surrounding cities like Tacoma or Olympia there's a lot of rural or partially rural towns that predominantly lean Republican. If it wasn't for Seattle, Washington would likely be a red state. Not to dox myself, but I do not live in Seattle or particularly close to it. There are queer resource and nonprofit organizations where I live, as well as for other marginalized groups, but they've had a history of being vandalized or attacked and I fear that's only going to get worse in the coming weeks/months/years.

I am a pretty visibly queer person, from the way I dress, my hair, my body language. Ive never been very good at blending in even when I wanted to. If someone was looking for a queer individual to target I wouldn't be the worst option out there. I am not going back into the closet, I refuse to hide or suppress myself, trying to in the past has never worked and has only made me horribly unhappy. I am a lesbian, I am transgender, I have a uterus, I am alterhuman, and I am proud. I am going to continue baring my teeth, continue seeking gender affirming care, continue being part of my community. But it isn't going to be without fear. There's been a lot of writing on the walls lately that I don't like the look of and it's scary to think of what may happen going forward.

But I do know how important it is that we find ways to stick together now more than ever. America is speeding down the road to fascism. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise, because we are, and have been for a while. We desperately need to have each other's backs. Stay aware of what's going on, if you don't consider yourself to be political, GET FUCKING POLITICAL. Get involved in irl community as much as possible, make connections and find out how you can help others, mutual aid is based as fuck and something you should be participating in asap. Learn how to keep yourself safe, 2nd amendment applies to us too, if guns aren't your style there are plenty of other forms of self defense to choose from. To anyone who's outside of the U.S, help spread news you come across, whether it's about protests or laws being passed, and if you're able to be there to offer comfort to any of your American friends who are scared right now. We see you guys and appreciate you, as censorship here intensifies you're going to be an important lifeline for us.

To anyone who's feeling alone and hopeless, who's stuck in red states, living with unaccepting families, financially vulnerable, immigrants, and anyone else who is scared right now, you are seen and you are not forgotten about. Stay alive at all costs, fight like hell, do not let them erase you.

Brianna Ghey was a 16 year old trans girl who was murdered on Saturday 11 February 2023 in the UK.

and as you can imagine, there are some dickheads who are dismissing this tragedy, cheering on this crime, and celebrating at this loss of life BECAUSE Brianna was trans.

this is what transphobia leads to. this is what happens when irrational hate for trans people, because these bigots seem to forget that we are PEOPLE, remains prevalent in wider society. this is what happens when the basic human right to live as happily and healthily as possible is discarded and overstepped for the sake of remaining in the repressive and oppressive status quo that benefits no one but the privileged.

you lose the ability to see other people as people. you lose your humanity, all for a moment of feeling superior over someone whose life is different to your own.

you can donate to a verified gofundme for Brianna's family here

but to every bastard who doesn't see an issue with her murder because she was trans, i hope you choke on a chainsaw.
