"No, please? Stay the night?"
You gave the best puppy dog eyes you could as you looked up to your partner. Your everything. Your Bucky. He was enlisted and getting sent out first thing in the morning. The two of you had gone steady a few months ago, but you'd known him for years before that.
"Dolll, I-" Bucky snorted and held you close to his chest, his forehead resting against yours before he pressed a small kiss to the tip of your nose. His lips gentle, and his touch was like clouds. "How can I say no t'you?"
A small chuckle left your lips as you ushered him into your home. You agreed that, after the war the two of you would get married. Move in together.. Ah, well, you don't wanna dwell on that right now. You're going to focus on the man right in front of you and that's all.
"You can't say no t'me!" You hugged his waist before pushing him down to the couch. With gentle touch, you grabbed his coat and threw it to the side. He's complained before about how it was tight and hot in it. "And I thank God for it everyday"
"You're so bad, hun"
"You love it"
In a graceful movement, you sat nicely on his lap. Your hands cupping his face as you looked over his face. Trying to remember every wrinkle, every hair, every bump and crevice. You weren't going to see him for months..
"What's on your mind, sweetheart?" The man in front of you asked with a worried smile. His hands were placed on your waist, making sure you weren't going to fall or move or anything of the sort. "Why're acting like 'n eager beaver?"
".. You promise you'll be back, right?"
A beat of silence spread between the two of you. James Buchanan Barnes left wordless for a moment. His shoulders tensed, no one would notice. No one but you. He licked his top lip before he captured your lips on his.
"I promise." He whispered against you. "I'll be back quicker than y'can say my name"
You ran a hand through his hair, it was so soft under your touch. You're going to miss moments like this. The sweet man you met gradeschool. You remembered when he was a lanky 12 year old boy, all confident at being 'the fastest kid in the whole school.' Honestly, when you were kids you didn't like him. He was a popular kid in school, everyone loved him
Except you. Which was strange for Bucky. So, of course, he made the great decision to talk to you in the library. You were reading The Great Gatsby.. Which was a heavy book for a 12 year old to read. But that just made Bucky even more enraptured with you.
Ever since then, he'd been glued to your side. After that, you, Bucky, and Steve had become a close knit trio. Everyone knew wherever you went, Bucky and Steve were close behind.
It was only inevitable that you'd fall for one of them.
Ah, well. That's enough reminiscing.. The front lines were the one place you wouldn't be able to follow Bucky to. You weren't enlisted, nor did you want to join the army. Much too violent for you. You wanted to open a bookshop for crying out loud!
"You'll stay safe though, okay, James?"
"Oh no, y'called me James, am I in trouble?" He had his signature smirk on his lips, trying to lighten the mood. It was a, uh, a failed attempt.
"Promise me."
His gaze softened as he kept his eyes locked on yours, his thumbs rubbing small circles on your back. Something he learned to soothe you one day after you had a low grade on a math test.
"I promise, doll."
A small sigh left your lips before you kissed his forehead softly. "I'll send you flowers, 'kay?"
"No."
You huffed and leaned away, your brows furrowed at his quick answer. A small frown on your face. "Why? Embarrassed of me?"
"Not one bit, doll, don't even joke like that," His grip on your waist tightened before he pulled you closer. "I don't want'cha to send me flowers, 'cause I want'cha to save that for our garden."
A small, confused chuckle left your lips. "Garden?"
"When we live together after the war," He whispered and kissed your lips, a quick soft one. "We'll have a big garden, somethin' we can take care of together."
"Buck-"
"We'd have the best front yard in the whole neighborhood," His eyes bore into yours. His blue eyes locked on yours as he looked at you.. Only love and admiration. Unlike his usual teasing nature, he looked at you as if you're the only person in the world. As if he wasn't leaving the next day. In fact, he looked at you as if you'd spend your whole life together..
That was his plan, at least.
"So no flowers, got it, sweetheart?"
You rolled your eyes and leaned forward, your forehead resting against his. "I got it."
"Doll?"
"What is it, Bucky?"
"I love you."
Your heart skipped a beat before a giggle escaped your lips. Your arms wrapped around his neck tightly as you placed scattered kisses around his face. You've said you "i love you's" before. But the magic hasn't weared off, not for you at least. Not ever.
"I love you too, James Buchanan Barnes. I love you more then you'll know."
The two of you sat there in a comfortable silence for a while. Quiet conversations between you two before Bucky carried you to your room. Where the both of you cuddled all night and whispered sweet nothings to each other.
You kept him close, stealing away any and all his warmth in the dark of the night.
Sadly, the morning came by, and your Bucky was swept away. Of course, he spared you a kiss before he had to go, promising he'd be back before you could say his name.
If only that promise was kept.

Y/N sat on the rooftop, knees drawn up to her chest, a thick hoodie wrapped around her. The stars were faint, blurred by the city lights in the distance, but still visible if you looked hard enough. She liked it hereâabove everything, where the air was just a little colder and a little clearer. Where she could breathe.
She didnât expect to hear footsteps. But she knew whose they were and her heart began to beat faster, her cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.Â
âI figured Iâd find you up here,â Bucky said, his voice low, carrying just enough to reach her without shattering the quiet.
She didnât turn around right away. âCanât sleep either?â
He chuckled, sitting beside her. âDo I ever?â
She glanced at him. He was in a black Henley, sleeves pushed up, metal arm glinting faintly under the moonlight. He looked tiredâbut softer. Like maybe he found a kind of peace in the stillness too.
âI like the quiet,â she said after a while. âWhen everything slows down.â
âYeah.â His gaze followed hers, out toward the faint skyline. âMe too. It's easier to think.â
âTo feel?â she asked, careful with the question.
Bucky looked at her then. Really looked. âYeah,â he said, quieter. âThat too.â
Silence settled again, but it wasnât empty. It was warm. Safe.
âYou donât have to talk,â Y/N said, resting her head on her knees. âNot if it hurts. But if you ever do... Iâll be here.â
A breath left himâsoft, like it took weight with it. Then, after a beat, he reached out and wrapped his metal hand gently around hers.
It was cool, careful, but steady.
âI know,â he said. âThatâs why Iâm here.â
âThe news?â Y/N questioned.Â
âYeaâŚI just canât believe that Sam would give up Steveâs shield like that.â
Y/N was quiet for a moment. âDo you think maybe heâs just not ready?â
Bucky didnât say anything, just continued to stare ahead. âI just- it makes me think that if Steve was wrong about Sam then maybe he was wrong about me.âÂ
Y/N turned her body towards Bucky. She reached out and grabbed ahold of his hand-the flesh one- and squeezed it. âPlease donât say that. I didnât know Steve and donât know Sam but Iâm sure Steve knew what he was doing when he gave Sam that shield. He also was not wrong about you, Bucky. Iâve known you for a few months and youâve been nothing but kind to me. I mean sure maybe you can be a little grumpy but youâve never made me feel threatened or uncomfortable.âÂ
Bucky looked at Y/N. âGrumpy?â
Y/N chuckled and gave him a playful smack on his arm. âOnly a little and only sometimes.âÂ
Buckyâs hand brushed gently against Y/Nâs, the faintest touch sparking something quiet and familiar between them. Neither moved away. Instead, their hands lingered, fingertips grazing in a silent understandingâan unspoken comfort that had settled between them like second nature.
----
The last of the customers trickled out of the bar, their laughter fading into the night as the door clicked shut behind them. Y/N made her way to the front, fingers brushing against the slightly smudged glass as she flipped the sign to Closed, the quiet of the empty room settling around her like a soft exhale. It had been a long shiftâsteady, a little chaotic at timesâbut now all that remained was the comforting rhythm of cleanup before she could head home, curl up on the couch, lose herself in a feel-good movie, and dig into some well-earned takeout.
But just as she turned to grab a rag from behind the bar, the front door creaked open again. The bell gave a soft chime as it swung closed, and Y/N instinctively pivoted, ready to let the late straggler know they were done for the night.
The words caught in her throat.
A slow, surprised smile bloomed across her face when she saw who stood in the doorway.
Bucky stood just inside the doorway, his frame slightly hunched like he wasnât sure he should be there, hands buried deep in the pockets of his hoodie. There was something uncertain in his eyes, the kind of vulnerability that made Y/Nâs heart squeeze just a little.
âHey,â she greeted softly, drying her hands on a towel. âHow did you know where I worked?â
He gave a small shrug, the corners of his mouth twitching into something that almost resembled a smirk. âI have my ways.â
That earned a quiet laugh from her, but the silence that followed wasnât awkwardâit was weighted, familiar. He made his way over to the bar, pulled out a stool, and sat down with a quiet sigh, resting his arms on the counter. His fingers traced absent patterns on the worn wood, eyes downcast.
Y/N turned back to her cleaning, though her movements had slowed. She kept stealing glances at him, watching the way he sat so still, like he was trying to sort through a storm in his head. She wanted to ask if he was okay, the words right on the edge of her lips. But instead, she waitedâgiving him space, hoping heâd let her in on his own terms.
âI know that look,â Y/N said gently, glancing over at him as she wiped down the last bit of the counter. âSomethingâs bothering you. I can tell.â
Bucky shook his head almost too quickly, eyes darting away. âNope. Nothingâs wrong.â
She didnât push, just gave him a quiet, knowing look. âAlright. Iâm almost done here, then we can head out.â
He gave a small nod, the kind that said he was grateful she wasnât pressing him. Y/N tucked the last few bottles back into place, the clinking of glass the only sound between them. Then she bent to grab her bag from beneath the bar, slinging it over her shoulder with a tired but content sigh.
As they stepped outside, the night air wrapped around themâcool, crisp, and a little biting. She grinned, nudging him playfully. âSo⌠did you really come all the way down here just to walk me home from work?â
Buckyâs lips twitched with a trace of a smile. âMaybe.â
A chill danced up her spine, and she shivered without meaning to. Bucky noticed immediately. Without a word, he tugged off his hoodie and held it out to her. She blinked in surprise, hesitated for a second, then took it. As she pulled it on, the sleeves hanging long over her hands, she caught the scent of himâclean soap, leather, and something warm that was just him. It made her chest ache in the sweetest way.
âI was thinking we could grab something to eat,â he said casually, running a hand through his hair like he was trying to play it cool. âOr⌠whatever you want.â
She looked up at him, eyes soft. âI was planning on takeout and a movie.â
He tilted his head. âUnless that sounds boring to you,â she added quickly.
His smile came easy this timeâgentle, genuine, the kind that lit up his whole face. âThat sounds perfect.â
-------
Y/N led the way down the quiet street to her favorite little pizza place, the one she always ended up craving after a long shift. The familiar scent of garlic and melted cheese hit her the second they stepped inside, instantly lifting her mood. She placed an order for her go-to pizza, the one she could eat a thousand times and never get tired of.
âAre you sure you donât want your own?â she asked, glancing up at Bucky with a raised brow.
He just shook his head with a faint smile. âIâm good. Iâll have whatever youâre having.â
When the total popped up on the register, Y/N instinctively reached for her walletâbut Bucky was quicker. He slid his card across the counter without missing a beat.
âHeyâcome on, Iâve got this,â she protested, nudging his arm.
He just gave her a look. Steady. âNext time.â
With the warm box of pizza in hand, Bucky carried it like it was something precious as they walked the short distance to their apartment building. Inside the elevator, the hum of machinery filled the space as he hit the button for her floor. The moment was quiet, but not awkwardâjust a soft kind of stillness that felt easy between them.
Once inside her apartment, Y/N headed to the kitchen, pulling out two mismatched plates from the cabinet and handing one to Bucky.
âIâll be right back,â she said with a smile, before slipping down the hallway to her bedroom.
She changed quickly, trading her work clothes for a pair of well-worn leggings and her favorite oversized t-shirt. After a momentâs pause, she grabbed Buckyâs hoodie from where sheâd left it earlier and slipped it back onâit still smelled like him, and the extra weight of it around her shoulders was oddly comforting.
When she padded back into the living room, Bucky was already seated on the couch, the pizza box resting on the coffee table in front of him. He sat back with his arms crossed, muscles stretching beneath the tight fabric of his t-shirt in a way that made Y/N pause in the doorway a second longer than she meant to.
She shook herself out of it and moved to the couch, settling a safe-but-not-too-far distance from him.
Grabbing the remote, she pulled up her favorite comfort showâone sheâd seen a hundred times but never got tired ofâand hit play. She reached for a slice, the warmth of the food matching the growing ease between them.
Bucky grabbed a piece too, and for a while, they sat side by side, the glow of the TV flickering across their faces, saying nothing at all.
But the silence was anything but emptyâit was filled with the kind of quiet comfort that only comes from being with someone who feels like home.
As the night wore on and a few more episodes passed, Y/N realizedâsomehow, without even noticing when it happenedâthat she was sitting much closer to Bucky than she had been at the start. The gap between them had gradually disappeared, replaced by the easy lean of shared warmth. She knew he usually shied away from touchâbut he hadnât moved. He hadnât flinched or pulled back. If anything, he seemed⌠settled.
The credits of the latest episode began to roll, the soft background music filling the quiet room.
âThank you,â Bucky said, his voice low and almost hesitant.
Y/N turned her head to look at him, her brows drawn together gently. âFor what?â
He gave a small shrug, blue eyes fixed on the screen like he couldnât quite meet her gaze. âFor letting me crash your night. I didnât mean to interrupt anything.â
âYou didnât,â she said softly, her lips lifting into a smile. âI like hanging out with you, Bucky.â
And before she could overthink it, she reached down and slid her hand into hisâhis flesh oneâher fingers curling gently around his. She gave a soft squeeze, grounding and sincere.
âYouâre always welcome here,â she said. âEven if you donât want to talk. We can just sit. Be. Iâm okay with that.â
For a beat, he didnât say anything. Then she felt his hand tighten around hers, not possessively, just⌠steady. Reassuring. And he didnât let go.
The next episode began to play, the familiar theme music rising again, but neither of them really paid attention. They stayed just like that, fingers laced together, hearts quietly aligned in the shared silenceâtrying, and failing, to focus on the screen when all they could really feel was the presence of the other.
---
Y/N stirred slowly, her eyes fluttering open as the early morning light filtered softly through the curtains. For a moment, she blinked against the haze of sleep, her brain sluggishly trying to piece together where she was. The couch. Her living room. The remnants of the night before flickered back into focus like a warm dream.
What she hadnât expected was the weight wrapped around herâthe steady rise and fall of a chest beneath her cheek, the warmth of two strong arms encircling her.
Bucky.
Her head rested against his chest, where his heartbeat thudded in a calm, even rhythm. His breath was slow and steady, lips slightly parted in sleep, completely at peace in a way she rarely got to see. And somehow, over the course of the night, theyâd both melted into one another, tangled up on her small couch like it was the most natural thing in the world.
She shouldâve been surprised. But she wasnât. Not really.
Y/N shifted slightly, her body stiff from sleeping in one position for too long. Carefully, she reached out, fingers brushing against his arm as she tried to slip out of his hold without waking him.
But before she could move more than an inch, Buckyâs arm tightened around her waistâgentle but firm. His other hand came up sleepily to rest at the small of her back, and without opening his eyes, he pulled her right back against him with a quiet, content sigh.
Y/N froze for a heartbeat, caught between amusement and something far softer, deeper. Her lips curled into a sleepy smile as she relaxed into him again, letting her eyes drift closed once more.
If this was how mornings with Bucky feltâquiet, safe, wrapped in warmthâshe wouldnât mind waking up like this a lot more often.
âDonât move. Iâm comfortable,â he murmured, his voice low and gravelly.Â
Y/N let herself relax against him again, her cheek resting against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. The world outside didnât existânot the mission reports, not the news, not the ghosts that sometimes lingered in both their silences.
Just the two of them.
She felt Bucky shift slightly, just enough to rest his chin lightly on the top of her head. His handâflesh and warmâbrushed slow, absentminded strokes along her arm. It sent a tingle down her spine that had nothing to do with the cold.
âYouâre warm,â he murmured sleepily.
She smiled against his shirt. âThatâs because Iâm wearing your hoodie.â
âKeep it,â he said, without hesitation.
Y/N tilted her head back slightly so she could look up at him. âYou sure?â
His eyes met hers, blue and unguarded, still heavy with sleep but clear in a way that made her breath catch. âYeah,â he said, softer. âLooks better on you anyway.â
That made her cheeks flush, and she quickly looked down to hide the smile pulling at her lips. His fingers brushed her jaw gently, coaxing her gaze back to his.
âYou always do that,â he said, voice quiet.
âDo what?â
âLook away when Iâm staring at you.â
âThatâs because you stare,â she teased, her voice a little too breathless for her liking.
âI do,â he admitted. âAnd you never seem to notice how much I like it.â
She blinked. The teasing vanished from his voiceâreplaced by something quieter, deeper.
Her heartbeat stumbled.
âBuckyâŚâ she started, unsure of what to say. But he was already leaning in, his hand moving up to cup her face with infinite careâlike he was afraid she might flinch or vanish if he wasnât gentle enough.
âIâm gonna kiss you now,â he murmured, eyes flicking from hers to her lips and back. âUnless you tell me not to.â
She didnât say a word.
She couldnât.
Instead, she nodded, just onceâbarely a breath of movementâand then he was kissing her.
Soft. Slow. Deliberate.
It wasnât the kind of kiss that demanded or rushed. It was the kind that lingered, like he had all the time in the world. His lips moved against hers with a careful sort of reverence, like he couldnât quite believe she was real. Her fingers curled into the front of his shirt, and she kissed him back just as softly, pouring into it every quiet moment theyâd sharedâevery time heâd sat beside her in silence, every word he hadnât needed to say.
When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested together, breath mingling.
âWell,â she whispered, her lips still tingling, âthat was... worth staying up for.â
Bucky gave a small huff of laughter. âYeah?â he said, brushing his thumb over her cheek. âBecause Iâve been thinking about doing that for a long time.â
âYou shouldâve said something.â
âI think I just did,â he said, and this time, the smile that curved his lips was realâand a little smug.
Y/N shook her head, grinning as she nudged his chest playfully. âYouâre lucky I like you, Barnes.â
âYeah,â he said, pressing another feather-light kiss to the corner of her mouth. âIâm starting to figure that out.â

â˘Namor, a child without love as heâd been cursed, did not have it within his heart to love another. His love lay with his people. That was until he happened upon you. An inquisitive human who was investigating the legend of K'uk'ulkan. At first, heâd planned to kill you as he did with all others that had come to find him ans Talokan. However, your intentions, unlike the others, was honourable. You only visited out of curiosity, and acted respectfully towards the land and the people of the village. Namor began to observe you. He watched you from afar as you continued to search for him, for any signs for him. He never let you catch on though.
â˘Frustrated by your fruitless efforts, you decided to leave in resignation. Despite hiding himself from you, Namor wasnât prepared for you to go. Heâd spent so much time watching you that he grew obsessed. He was completely enamoured with you, with your mannerisms, your habits, your laugh, your smile, everything about you. You were a pure being. The cruel surface world was undeserving of you. So, the day you were meant to leave, you visited the beach one last time as a sort of nostalgic end visit. Thatâs when you saw him, emerging out of the water. You stood there, stunned. Here before you was K'uk'ulkan in all his glory. And he was glorious. He mustâve been the most gorgeous man youâd ever seen. The silence between you two grew as you eyes raked him over, taking him in. Slowly, he moved towards you, then he uttered your name. That single utterance of your name caused your insides to double over, twisting and turning.
âK'uk'ulkan,â you whispered in awe, eyes widened. Smiling, he corrected you, âNamor. Youâve been searching for me.â
Still in awe, you nodded slowly. âYou wish to see it, do you not? My home,â asked Namor, outstretching his hand in an unspoken offer. He was inviting you, a mere human, to see his home. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you cautiously took his hand. He pressed a mask to your face and before you could register what was happening, you were being pulled under the water.
â˘Namor took you to an underwater cave where you didnât need a mask. This is where youâd be staying, he told you. You didnât pay any thought towards his ominous tone, too absorbed with the mesmerizing beauty of the cave. Namor then showed you to a high-tech deep-sea diving suit. Once you were suited up, Namor showed you Talokan. The underwater city was ethereal. You marvelled at the sights and the people, all who received you warmly. Namorâs heart swelled watching you interact with his people as if they were your own, well they would be soon.
â˘You enjoyed your time at Talokan. All your needs and wants were met. You adored spending time with the people, especially the children. However, eventually, the novelty wore off and you grew homesick. You tried to bring it up with Namor but he would either change the course of the conversation or just blow you off entirely. This dodgy behaviour worked up your irritation until it finally spilled over.
âNamor!â you called out. Namor turned around, his face set in an adoring smile. âI need to talk to you.â
âWhat is it? Is there anything you need?â He asked sweetly.
âI want to leave, and donât try changing the subject. I love it here in Talokan, but this isnât my home. I have a home, a life back on the surface that I need to return too,â you said, pleadingly.
Something in Namorâs eyes changed, and he titled his head in confusion. Then, he laughed. âDarling, tell me, what did you expect to happen once you accepted my hand. Did you believe that Talokan has remained hidden for so long through allowing people free range?â
Your heart rate quickened, and you stuttered, trying to formulate a response. You hadnât thought of the future consequences, lost in the thought of experiencing the myths youâd studied for so long first hand. Chuckling, Namor closed the distance between you two and cupped your face with his hands. âWorry not, beloved. Talokan shall offer you far more than the surface world ever could.â

You turned to look at each other, letting the radio hostâs announcement sit. âBut how?â Wanda mumbled.
You didnât have any leads as to what couldâve possibly led to another time jump. You suggested that the crash mightâve caused it, though Vision shook his head to the suggestion. âIt doesnât seem likely. Last time this occurred, we were in the diner, not the car, which only voids us of an answer.â He stated while picking up a piece of mail from the floor and grabbing a pen. He began to jot down the years they were dropped into and the events that took place beforehand.
You peered at the paper inquisitively. âWhatâre you doing?â
âTaking note of our circumstances every time this transpires, so we could potentially find a correlation.â He sighed after writing down the last word onto the piece of mail. âAnd hopefully a cause.â
A frown started to etch itself onto Pietroâs face once he ripped his gaze from the paper to look up at you all. âSo we bought clothes for nothing?â
Wanda took a deep inhale and turned to look out the car window. âYouâre lucky Iâm too tired to argue with you.â
âIt was money spent on nothing! And what happens when we run out? We donât have the money Tony has!â
Your brows furrowed at this. âHeâs got a point. We donât know how long weâll stay in here and if the money we have will be enough.â You started to bite your nails anxiously as you tried to think of ways to deal with this situation. âWe should keep the things we buy within this car. The car so far has come with us, regardless of location, so it looks like our best bet.â
âLooking for brief jobs could be a start to saving if thatâs the case then. Or if weâre fortunate enough to have an avengers-esk team in this reality, then we might be able to get employed for the time being. And maybe get answers.â Vision added.
Wanda reluctantly nodded and huffed; hating to admit her brother had a point. She gazed at the flickering neon lights from a sketchy motel and grimaced a the sight. âA place to stay as payment would be nice too.â
âCan you not zap us into an apartment?â Pietro faced you.
You shook your head. âIt doesnât work like that. I can only transport myself so far.â You said in slight frustration. âStill working on transporting people with me.â You muttered the last part.
âI get why they needed me now.â He taunted under his breath; earning a flick on the forehead from you and his sister. He rubbed the spots after slapping both of your hands away. âWhy am I always targeted?! Vision never has to endure this.â
His sister rolled her eyes. âVision is not annoying.â
The compliment seemed to catch him off guard, judging by the red pigment dusting his human colored skin. âOh, thank you. I think.â
âNo problem, Vis.â
âOkay so Vision is amazing. Great!â Pietro then gestured to the building across the street. âWhere are we going to stay at tonight, cause that motel over there should not even be in service.â
âThe only thing we can do is drive around to find another place. Unless a store that sells a map of the town is still open at-â You check the time written on the car radio. â1:34 in the morning. And even if we do buy a map, we donât know how long itâll be useful for before we jump into another fucking world!â You sighed exasperatedly; your hands covering your face as your head dropped. You could feel a headache coming on by the uncertainty of all this. You hated not knowing how long this would last and how you could make this work for a long period of time, if it came to that.
Pietroâs demeanor softened as he saw you hide behind your hands. He carefully reached out and gingerly brought them down onto your lap. âItâll be fine. We will find somewhere to stay at, and if not tonight, we have the car, no? Then when the sun comes up, we will search for a motel. Hopefully one that does not have a sign that will fall onto us the moment we enter.â You snorted at the description. âIf we find ourselves here for more than a day, we will do what you and Vision have said and take it one step at a time, okay? We will get out of here. It might take time. And thatâs okay. All that matters right now is that we can find somewhere to sleep at.â He murmured while peering into your eyes, gently squeezing your hands in his. âAnd I donât want to find out what youâre like in the morning when you donât have a goodnight sleep.â A toothy smile found itâs way onto his face once your eyes rolled and a smile broke out. âYâknow, I can run around the city until I find a good place thatâs open?â
You frowned. âItâs like stupidly hot right now though.â Even though his idea really would help, you did feel guilty if he had to run in the heat like this.
âIâve been through worse, kapiÄka. But your pampering flatters me.â He winked; the wide smile remaining on his face. âWait here, Iâll be back.â And just like that he was gone with only a gust of wind left to take his place.
You fixed your being and fluttered your lashes; your eyes adjusting to the abrupt charge of air that just hit it. âI do wish he gave us more time to prepare when he did that.â
Less than five seconds later, he came back and was seated. He held his hand in his lap, though it seemed as if he was discreetly angling it away from you. One slight tilt to the left was enough for you to catch a glimpse of the blue ink on it, and the lines marking his hand. He turned to look up at you and swiftly put his hand back down onto his lap. âTake a right.â
âHe needs to write down how to get somewhere when he gives someone else directions. Or else heâll forget cause he is not going at the speed he typically goes at.â Wanda said unamused as she leaned into the space between the two front seats.
âYâknow it doesnât cost you to keep quiet.â
âYou were going to make a fool of yourself if you kept looking down at your hand throughout the whole ride. I just saved you from further embarrassment, you should be thankful.â
Pietro grumbled at that and continued with giving you directions until you found a safe enough motel and booked a room. You all got rest and went to nearby stores for luggages and clothes the next morning. You each shopped for a few clothing items, just in case you did get transported after a day. You kept them in the car when not in use after buying; testing to see if your theories were correct for the next time it occurred. You also bought a few basic necessities in small increments for the same reason.
You each got ready for the day with your new outfits and repeated the process from two days ago. Except instead of proving if this were an alternate timeline, this time you were looking for evidence of your teammates potential existence in this world. And as if hearing your pleas, it didnât take long to find that they did. Or at least two of them did. Clint and Nat. The thing was, they didnât have an agency like S.H.I.E.L.D. but were rather faceless vigilantes. You figured you could work with that. The issue was finding a way to get in contact with them.
That is where the four of you found yourselves; waiting in dangerous parts of the city, hoping to catch one of them in the midst of a fight. That plan didnât go over well as three nights had gone by and nothing.
âThey are not going to show up.â Pietro said after 20 minutes of waiting on the fourth night. âItâs only two of them in this city, thereâs no way weâll spot them like this.â
âWhat do you suggest then?â
âGet their attention.â He shrugged.
You raised your brow. âHow though?â He dashed off and came back in less than a second with a bandana on his head and two holes cut where his eyes would be.
âJoin the action.â He grinned and held out bandanas and ski masks.
Wanda took a bandana. âYou couldâve just tied it around half of your face.â
âI needed to cover my hair.â
âIt barely covers it. Use this, not the cloth.â Wanda plucked out a ski mask to hand it back to him while you and Vision took the two articles of clothing left.
Pietro was visibly upset at the suggestion. âItâs not as cool.â
The four of you went on to stalk different sections of the city; fighting lawbreakers with your new attire that Pietro supplied for you all by âborrowingâ after getting the head pieces. You all agreed upon not using powers, as it seemed this world hasnât had superbeings, so you used hand to hand combat instead. You heard nothing from them that night, but at least the city caught wind of the four of you. And that in itself couldâve been the reason that on the fifth night, you were confronted by the pair after having taken down some criminals.
âInteresting suits. Pretty sure I saw that very shirt just three blocks down.â You turned around to see Clint and Nat behind you; weapons not held up but not fully put away either.
âGot these on discounts.â Pietro spoke up.
Nat tilted her head at that and raised her brow. âWasnât aware 13th street and 9th were having a sale?â
You turned to look at Pietro with furrowed brows as if asking âwhere did you get these?â He ignored your stare and responded to Natasha mockingly. âYou keep track of all the clothes in the city?â
âWe got some complaints.â
âI thought you were fighters not landlords.â
âYeah well people talk when four new crime fighters enter the scene with theft already on their hands. Congrats, you made the headlines if that was what you wanted.â Clint held up a newspaper packet with four separate pictures of the four of you fighting in your âsuits.â âItâs how we got the complaints when residents saw their clothes on the front page.â
Pietro avoided the gaze from his twin, you, and Vision as he stared off onto the street. You shook your head and rolled your eyes before facing the duo in front of you. âRight, weâre sorry about that. Weâll return these in the morning. Guess we shouldâve been careful about who runs errands for us.â You chuckled with a strained smiled; hoping Pietro caught the jab. âWe really didnât mean to get off on the wrong foot with you and the neighborhood.â
âAs long as you donât steal again, weâll be in the clear.â The pair was about to leave, yet Clint turned around once more. âAnd you guys should keep the talking to a minimum when fighting or in your suits. Most of you have distinguishable accents. Just a heads up if you donât want trouble with the law.â
Your eyes widened a smidge upon the realization. You werenât a masked hero and the twins, and Vision, were meant to be maskless as well, when joining the team. It genuinely slipped your mind that you could get recognized by your way of speaking. So in an attempt to keep in contact with the vigilantes, and get guidance, you asked them if they could mentor the four of you. The two looked shocked and glanced at each other before returning their gazes onto you all.
âWhat are you guys some type of teen titans?â Clint teased.
Your mouth opened to make a retort but then closed back up. To be fair, you did have a robot, who may not have been half human, but felt and thought like one. And you had Wanda who was like a sorceress. Pietro was justâŚPietro you guess. To his credit, he does have the confidence, flirtatiousness, and agility (except more enhanced) that resembles Nightwingâs; with a humor that mirrors Beast Boyâs. Plus, while you werenât an alien, you could teleport.
Shit Clint was right to a degree without even knowing. And you were going to keep it that way too. You cleared your throat. âNo, though some tips and tricks would help greatly. We can fight but the whole being discreet and covering our tracks is still new to us.â
They shared looks as if having a mental conversation until Nat nodded whilst letting out a sigh. âAlright then. Training starts tomorrow night at 8 on the dot. Bring new threads. Preferably ones that donât have a five finger discount. Uh-â She held her index finger up and brought her other hand up to her ear while nodding. âCopy. Weâll get there soon.â She hinted at Clint that they had to go with the tilt of her head.
âRight, well nice chat, but weâll have to cut this shor- Alright! Alright! Weâre going! Jesus have some patience man, I canât think when youâre yelling in my ear.â He huffed and nodded in acknowledgment towards the four of you; Natasha following along before taking off. Unfortunately, they were too quick to leave that you had failed to ask where to meet them at.
The next morningâŚ.
âThis should be it.â You said once you finished folding the last clothing item. âI canât believe you broke into these peopleâs homes.â You said under your breath while shaking your head.
Pietro collected the clothes from you and furrowed his brows. âI didnât break into their homes.â
âThen howâd you get these?â
âFrom the clothes they hang outside to dry.â He shrugged. âDonât leave your clothes out if you donât want them to get stolen.â You gave him a deadpanned look, causing him to put his hands up in defense. âHey, you said we needed to save, so I went with the best method! Look, all the stores were closed, and you didnât like me stealing from a vendor yesterday.â
âSo you stole from everyday people?â
âTheyâre getting it back are they not?â
âAfter we found out through Nat and Clint.â
âSee? Perfect! It all worked out.â He taunted and then leaned in to peck your temple. Before you could react, he ran off; his words echoing in place of him, âThank you for the help, drahĂ˝!â You hadnât even processed the sound of something falling onto the bedside table, until the items caught the corner of your eyes. Pietro left you with your favorite snack and drink, along with a note that read âI said Iâd get your snacks next time ;)â

You rummaged through the clothing racks, trying to find outfits so that you could stand out less with your modern-day clothes. You picked out a shirt and held it up while thinking of what to pair it with.
âWhatâs his name again?â Pietro spoke up from behind you.
âHmm? Who?â
âSteveâs friend.â
âDo you mean Bucky?â Vision replied while putting on a sweater Wanda had suggested he try on.
âYes Bucky.â He muttered before messing with a mannequinâs pose. âHeâs a bit much, no?â
Wanda withheld a smirk and responded with, âYou would know best about that, wouldnât you Piet?â
Pietro then scoffed at the notion. Your focus drifted onto them and you noted the same mischievous look in Wandaâs eyes that Pietro usually gets before he purposefully gets on someoneâs nerves. You shook your head and stopped a grin from spreading onto your face as you went back to sifting through the hangers. âAnd what do you mean by that dear sister?â Sarcasm dripping off of the so called words of endearment.
âHeâs a spitting image of you with the way he acts.â She paused to look at a blue dress, ignoring the offended and shocked expression Pietro gave her.
âDo you take joy lying on my name?â He muttered with somewhat raised brows and squinted eyes. âHe does not resemble me at all. He comes on too strong and lays it onâwhat is it you say?â He turned to face you and Vision.
âLays it on too thick?â Vision piped up.
âYes, that.â
âI donât know Pietro, sometimes you do.â You added to further fuel the fire Wanda started, earning you a slight smirk from her.
âMilĂĄÄek, you too?â He said in dramatic disbelief. The puppy dog eyes he gave you, did make you feel a faintly guilty if only for a moment.
You shrugged and gave him a sympathetic smile. âYouâre not that discreet.â This makes him look to Vision for confirmation.
âUh, well- Iâm not really sure what might be too much. That can be subjective, so it would depend on the feelings of the people you hit on.â Vision clearly wanted to stay out of it, attempting to be neutral so that he can simply go back to shopping.
âKapiÄka, am I too much for you?â Piet returned to facing you, still in disbelief. âDo I lay it down too thickly?â The tone he said it in pulled at your heart strings, but you couldnât help chuckling quietly at the way he worded the last question.
âThereâs nothing wrong with that.â You continued to tease him with your âconsolation.â
He crossed his arms with a small pout on his face. ââYesâ as an answer wouldâve hurt less.â
His sister rolled her eyes. âYou are being dramatic.â
He rolled his eyes in return and huffed. He continued to follow you and Wanda through the store, holding the piles of clothes you all sought out before you went to the changing rooms. You modeled for each other, seeing which pieces were the best before heading to the check out.
Once all of you were ready, you drove to the library to meet up with the Bucky and Steve. After they directed you on where the theater was, the six of you bought a ticket and went in. You didnât think much of your seating placement; not paying much attention as you all filed into your row. It wasnât until you sat down and saw that Pietro was on your left and Bucky on your right, that you wished you had pre-planned the seating. Not that you have issue with either of them, but knowing that Pietro wasnât exactly fawn of Bucky meant that his patience with him was thin. You simply sat and hoped the two of them didnât do or say much for the next two hours.
An hour into the play and you started to shudder due to the theatreâs air conditioning. âYouâre not cold are you hun?â Bucky whispered after he saw you shiver. He put his hands on his coat, signaling he was ready to take it off if you needed it.
âOh you donât have to, but thank you for the offer.â
âNo really itâs fine. Iâd rather not have you sit here cold. Iâm sure the change in temperature here must be hard to adjust to.â He smiled and gently rested his sweater on you. âThere. All better. Is that sitting comfortable enough for you?â
You nodded and smiled bashfully. âItâs sitting just perfectly, thank you. You sure you wonât get cold?â
âDonât you worry âbout me, sweetheart, I got my own ways of staying warm. Plus your presence wouldâve been enough either way.â
âWell thatâs awfully kind of you then-â
âNo, go on talk louder, I can still hear the play.â Pietro butted in while leaning towards the two of you.
Your head whipped towards him. âYou didnât even want to watch the play.â
âThat was before I took a seat and paid for it.â He grumbled before leaning back into his seat once more. He sat there, shoulders tense and arms crossed, glaring at the play in front of him. Bucky was taken a bit aback, but didnât make a comment as he returned to viewing the play. The three of you were quiet for awhile until Pietro leaned into your side and looked at you through his peripheral. âAre you actually cold?â He murmured.
âKinda.â
âDo you want my warmth?â
You debated the answer and then nodded; moving closer to him once his arm wrapped around your shoulders. You felt the heat from his arm instantly warm you up, thanks to his superhuman makeup. You couldnât help snuggling further, seeking more while Pietro secured his hold on you with his other arm joining in.
âDo you want?â He whispered softly as he took out a pack of m&ms.
You shook your head yes and grabbed a few pieces. âWhen did you get these?â You whispered back.
âWhen the stall man wasnât looking as we passed by.â He said in a pleased tone while he ate one.
âPietro!â A swift, but light, smack was felt on his abdomen.
âWhat, like an m&m would ruin his business? And if it does, heâs bad at selling.â
âItâs not right to steal regardless.â
âWhat if I get your favorite snack next time?â A cheeky grin painted his face. You raised your brows and pursed your lips as they sorta extruded. âCâmon donât give me that, drahĂ˝. How about snack and drink? I know youâd like that.â He smiled when he poked your side. You chuckled while squirming away and nudged his hand.
âHey Pietro, mind keeping it down?â Bucky whispered, purposefully mimicking Pietro.
The smile instantly left his face once he replied bluntly. âI do.â
âBe nice.â You butted in.
âYou heard them Bucky.â Pietro looked over at him, only to receive a snap on his wrist from his bracelet. âMilĂĄÄek-â He pouted.
âI meant you.â
âI was! I wasâŚneutral.â
âSure you were.â
âItâs okay, Iâm sure he was just being earnest.â Bucky smiled politely, though in Pietâs eyes it was a fake smile.
âI was.â He curtly responded before looking at the play once more and subtly nudging you closer to him. The two of them stayed quiet for the rest of the play, deciding not to fuss anymore as Wanda and Steveâs glares kept them in line. Before splitting ways however, you made sure to set up plans with Steve and Bucky to show you another spot in the city for another day.
âYou couldnât keep your mouth shut?â Wanda said as soon as you dropped Steve and Bucky off.
Pietro groaned. âHe was the one talking during the play. How is it that Iâm rude for telling him to fuck off, but him talking isnât?â
âYou do things like that all the time, and now you care when somebody else does it?!â
âI do care cause he canât stop flirting when weâre supposed to be watching something!â
âYou do that to others as well!â
âWell I was watching the show!â
âOh really? Name three characters, quick!â
âJdi do prdele!â Pietro spat out, followed by some more Sokovian words exchanged between the twins. You and Vision shared glances. You opted for bringing the windows down to let the wind muffle their arguing and in the meantime, Vision turned the radio up and switched through the stations until he found one he liked.
Vision inched closer to you from behind your seat to whisper, âyou think we should get a different room for them tonight?â
âDefinitely.â
âMaybe ice cream too. Might help them cool off. And I would also like to try it.â
You couldnât help but to smile at that. âOh yeah, I guess youâve never tried it before right?â
âUnfortunately.â
âWell we can head to an ice cream parlor after theyâre calmer.â
âSounds like a plan.â
After an hour of letting the two steam off in separate rooms, you and Vision eventually coax them into coming out for ice cream. The ice cream luckily ended up aiding in making them let loose once more. They even ended up both getting a scoop of strawberry and then a different flavor for their second scoop. You would think there would be a stark contrast between the way they added toppings to their ice creams, but they both went all out, which you couldnât help but to find a bit funny.
âHow do yâall like it?â
âIts delicious.â Pietro mumbled while stuffing his face.
Wanda agreed as she took another spoonful. âItâs sweet. I like that. Helps with this heat too.â
Pietro nodded along. âSokovia never felt like hell.â He paused. âWell not when it came to high temperatures.â
âYâall must be sweating your balls off then?â
They both shook their heads yes while they silently ate the rest of their dessert. The silence made you realize just how exhausted the heat had them as you watched the sweat beads drop from their foreheads.
âDo you feel the humid air?â You suddenly turned to Vision. You didnât know much about him; being that he was born (at most) four weeks ago, and you only knew him for one week and some days.
âI can tell what the weather is but I donât feel the pressures of it the way you may might. Except if it were extreme to the point of affecting my makeup.â
âWow so you donât even feel relieved from the ice cream?â
He chuckled slightly and shook his head. âNot really no, but it is interestingâtexture wise.â
âYou canât taste it?!â
âI canât taste any foods.â
âThat does check out, but damn. Iâm gonna have to ask Tony if he can like install a flavor palette for you or something.â
âIâm not sure itâs really necessary but I appreciate the thought.â
âYouâll be missing out on a whole world though! And it can help you with cooking.â
He gave you a quizzical look. âCooking? But I donât need to eat. In fact, itâs probably best I eat on occasion so I donât ruin my mechanics.â
âTrue, but you can impress someone with your cooking skills.â
âMe being a robot wouldnât make the cut?â His question ended up getting a snort out of you and the twins.
âFair. Itâs just another skill you can add to the list of things to impress someone with.â
âIâll consider it.â
By the time you all finished, the sun was down and the cricketsâ chirping followed you no matter which way you went. You were driving back to the motel with the windows down to combat the humidity. You had just stopped at a red light, humming along to a song playing on the radio when you were abruptly jolted as a result of a car crashing into you. Thankfully, Pietro was fast enough to ensure no one got injured. However, the thought was overshadowed by a shaking in the ground, and a thunderous noise that was soon followed by a bright flash. Each of you covered your eyes and then uncovered after awhile, wondering if you jumped timelines again. You looked around to see that it was still night, yet the car that crashed into you wasnât there anymore. The radio sputtered, switching and glitching through stations until it steadied itself with the voice of a radio host coming through.
âAnd donât forget to call in to enter our contest! One lucky caller could get a ticket to the Monterey Pop Festival this weekend. So make sure to mark your calendars for June 16th through the 18th cause â67âs lineup will be a gas!â

A/N: Praying yâall liked this chapter! Also just wanted to clarify that yâall jumped like 4 years further into the 60s, since you entered it in 1963âď¸đ¤ And Iâm trying to have Pietro be more true to his character cause Iâm pretty sure in the MCU he is supposed to be sorta short tempered. So please tell me if yâall think something he said wasnât Pietro-esk. Though it is kinda hard to make it true to him cause heâs literally only in one movieđ That being said, itâs also difficult with Vision cause I swear they have him say like 5 lines in the whole franchiseđż
On another note, I like to imagine that the twins go all out on their ice cream toppings because it momentarily makes up for a childhood they never fully got to have. Something about a strawberry scoop for both makes sense to me and idk why.
This is also how I imagine them to be while/after eating ice cream on that hot ass day.

âWe have the car.â Pietro stated as if it was obvious.
âIf I damage her, Tony is going to kill me.â
âTony canât get to you right now.â
âOk, but when we do get back, heâll kill me. And I doubt heâll excuse the fact that we just wanted to have fun.â
âThats easy. We lie.â
At this point, it was past 12 a.m. The four of you had gone to a motel after heading to the compound, only to find it had ceased to exist. You werenât exactly sure what that meant for the four of you. Had the team yet to be born? Presumably if it was the 60s, it checks out. Unfortunate for the lot of you however, as it meant you couldnât get aid from the very people who knew how to handle supernatural phenomenons. And despite booking a motel room with two beds, you and Pietro seemed to be on the same page; struggling to sleep due to the ceaseless questions racking your brains.
That is where you found yourselves in the parking lot of the motel, attempting to make the hours pass. Pietro had just suggested to take the car out for a spin, being that he never had the need to drive nor learned how to. And you two argued for some time about it, though ultimately, Pietro was able to get through to you. You figured it may be best to have someone else who knows how to drive besides you and maybe Vision? You werenât quite sure if he did, however you assumed he could given the whole robot thing. Either way, that left you here, teaching him how to drive, as you gripped onto the door handle for dear life.
âAlright you got that part down, now put some pressure onto the gas pedal again.â He put more than you anticipated, causing your grip to tighten. âLess! Less.â He adjusted his foot to the gas pedal.
âI thought I was doing okay.â
âThought, not was. We canât go too fast yet until youâve got the basics down.â
âThis will take forever.â
âItâs supposed to take some time to learn. Plus, this was your idea.â He slowed the car to a stop before looking over at you.
âI thought it would be quick and we could speed down the streets. Do a donut or whatever you call it.â You reached over to put the car in parking.
âWell you thought wrong.â He let out a puff of air while bubbling his lips. He gazed around, taking in the closed vintage shops before his eyes landed on you once more. His eyes then traveled down to your wrist before lightly plucking at your bracelet, allowing the bracelet to snap back at your skin. âAgh!â He snickered at your reaction. âYouâre so-â
âLovable? Fast? Endearing?â
âPesky.â You retorted as you reached over to snap his bracelet in return.
A faux frown made its way onto his face. âThat hurt!â
You laughed a bit while speaking. âTo be fair, you couldâve moved on time instead of letting me do that.â He couldnât harbor the grin he was trying to keep hidden anymore.
âIt wouldnât be fair.â
âI donât think youâre one for fairness, Maximoff.â Your lips mirrored his.
âOnly if Iâm given reason. And youâre one of them.â
âYou stole my fries earlier.â
He nodded sheepishly. âI wasnât committed to the fairness back then.â
âAnd you are now?â You giggled softly.
âWith my whole heart, mind, body, and soul.â He muttered dramatically while taking ahold of your hand, placing your palm over his chest, where his heart lied. He let his thumb glide over the back of your hand while you felt the fast beat of his heart. Quite unnaturally fast actually. Though that must be a given, due to his abilities. Some supernatural heartbeats passed by as you struggled to come up with a response. âYouâre awfully quiet, kapiÄka.â A prideful smirk transpired onto his lips. âAm I making you nervous?â His tone carried the usual teasing tone, but you did hear some genuine curiosity and concern laced into it. And with the way his eyes studied yours, it gave you further reason to believe so.
âCourse not.â You retracted your hand. âJust didnât expect you to grab my hand like that.â
He chuckled at that. âDo you not like that?â
You took a pause before responding. âI donât mind it.â You said quietly into the night air while avoiding his look. If you turned back around, you were sure youâd see his shit eating grin once more. Surprisingly though, you werenât met with a teasing response, just a âhm.â You looked at the time plastered onto the carâs clock. âWe should head back, itâs getting late.â
âCan I drive us back then?â
âDefinitely not.â
You two sneaked back into the motel room, careful not to wake Wanda and Vision up. You lied beside Wanda, ready to fall asleep, but not before thinking about your hand on him and how it made your heart race. You push the feeling and memories away, knowing there wasnât much to it and let your dreams take over.
Once morning came around, the four of you headed out for breakfast while discussing how to get answers on how you ended up there and hopefully find a way out. âWeâre in the 60âs that much we know.â You stated while offering some of your food to Pietro. He happily plopped a few pieces into his mouth while nodding and munching along.
âBut are we in our 60âs or an alternate timeline?â Vision added.
Wanda turned to him after a moment of thinking. âIs there not some way we can test to see if it is?â
He paused before nodding. âYou could be onto something. We can look for known events to figure out whether or not the timelines match up.â
âThatâs a really good idea actually. Should we head to a library? We can even get some newspapers?â You chimed in.
You each collected books and newspapers for Vision to read, being that he was a fast reader and knew if the information aligned with your universeâs history. Two hours had gone by and you were in the history section, searching for any other history book that mightâve been missed. You ran your finger along the spine of the books as you read the labels and suddenly fell forward upon feeling someone bump into you. The person thankfully was quick on their feet and had made sure you didnât hit your head on the shelves or floor whilst they repositioned you upright.
âPlease pardon-â was all the stranger got out before you realized that the voice belonged to Steve. He looked like he usually does, but with a 60âs pompadour haircut that didnât draw too much attention. âI really didnât mean to bump into you, Iâm so sorry. My friend just shoved me carelessly without looking.â He continued, looking back to give his friend a stern look. Your eyes followed his, seeing his friend was a brunette with a ducktail hairstyle. He happened to be built like Steve but in a slightly shorter stature. âOtherwise, we wouldâve made sure not to put you at risk. Are you alright? You didnât hit your head did you?â
You blinked a couple of times before nodding and laughing a bit nervously. âNo yeah, Iâm fine, just a little shaken up. You just look so familiar, but I canât quite put my finger on it. Your name starts with an S right?â
He smiled warmly as he shook his head. âSteve, yes.â He held his hand out for you to shake while speaking. âIâm not sure I remember your name, my apologies. Would you mind reminding me?â
You gave him your name and attempted to see if you could get more information out of him. âYeah yeah, Iâm not sure if I saw you around or maybe on something like a newspaper?â You tilted your head in an innocent manner.
It ended up working, given that he gave you a wide smile and raised his brows. âOh thatâs a possibility-â he started until his friend butted in with an arm slung around Steveâs shoulders.
âThough itâs likely you saw Steve on TV, thatâs where most of the beauties recognize him from.â To which Steve smacked his friendâs torso with the back of his hand.
âPlease donât pay him any mind.â
âOr pay me all of it, hun.â His friend offered a toothy smile and extended his hand for you to shake. âThe names James, but you can call me Bucky.â
You returned the smile with a friendly one of your own and shook his hand. âNice to meet you Bucky. I imagine you make the headlines too?â You took a wild guess. You werenât sure what was true and what wasnât. Steve being alive right now, and not trapped in ice, confirmed you were in a different reality. Though he looks the same age as he did since the 40âs, meaning he mustâve taken the serum. And given how his friend is built, you assume he mightâve too.
âNot as much as Steve, but if youâre looking for me, Iâm sure youâll find me.â He winked. âIs that your guy?â He flicked his head to signal behind you. You turned to find Pietro walking up to you and stopping right beside you. You turned back around, a bit wide eyed while shaking your head and laughing bashfully.
âOh no, no, heâs a friend of mine. Bucky, Steve, this is Pietro, Pietro this Bucky and Steve.â You introduced them to each other. Pietro greeted Steve first and then simply gave Bucky a thin lipped smile when he shook his hand. âI was wondering if you two can possibly show me and my friends around here? Weâre new to the place, and Iâm assuming you two are well acquainted with it. That is if itâs not too big of an ask and if you two arenât busy, of course.â
Bucky was the first to reply, instantly at that. âIt would be no issue at all, angel face.â
âWould you want to know about any places in particular? Thereâs a theater a few blocks down if you want to see a play.â
âYouâre gonna bore them to death, Steve. If you want something more worth your buck, thereâs a club not too far that Iâm sure you and your friends will enjoy.â
âBoth sound great! Let me just check in with my friends to see which theyâll prefer. Or if you want to come along as well and get the introductions over with, we can do that too.â You said sweetly, praying that they would agree to it.

A/N: Yâall please forgive me for not writing for like a month, school got in the way unfortunately đ Though I also think itâs getting tough for other fanfic writers cause I swear me and the other 6 fans Pietro has, havenât been writing as much, or maybe thatâs just me, but it just feels like thereâs less fics of him than usualâbesides school though, I rewrote this chapter like three times, not sure where I wanted to go with it (thatâs on me for deciding to make it an AU), but I think I figured it out now! And Iâm glad I redid this more than once cause now I like how it turned out and I hope you guys do as well!

As promised, the next day you had made a bracelet for him while the two of you talked. Eventually Wanda and Vision joined in to see how you were doing. You were still adjusting to Vision, being that he was a sentient robot. Though you suppose you have been through weirder things such as the invasion in New York. You pushed the thought away when Wandaâs voice rang through the room.
âIs that a bracelet youâre making?â She asked as she drew closer and peered at your lap. You nodded and smiled as you carefully held it up in your hand, making sure the beads and charms didnât fall from the untied string.
âYeah, Iâm making one for Pietro. I could make one for you and Vision too if youâd like?â
âReally? What did my brother do to get into your graces like this?â She joked while Pietro, who was behind her and sitting on a chair, rolled his eyes. âIt is very cute though. I would like a red and black themed bracelet if you can.â She then turned to Vision for his response.
âOh! I would like one too, if you donât mind. Iâm not quite sure what colors howeverâŚmaybe yellow and silver?â
âAlright, red and black for Wanda, and yellow and silver for Vision it is then.â You said as you started to finish up Pietroâs bracelet. You tied it off and handed it to him.
âYâknow this was supposed to be between me and them. Youâre interrupting our girls day.â He faked a pointed look towards his twin. Wanda gave him a confused look.
âA girls day?â
âUh yeah.â He said as if it were obvious while trying to mimic an American accent, failing to do so and raising the container holding the beads and ball of string.
âMaking bracelets doesnât make this a girls day.â
âWell it is enough for me to consider it one.â
âIf we go by that logic, then I suppose it would still be one if me and Wanda join.â Vision interjected.
âPlus Iâd rather do something than nothing if Iâm going to be here for a few more days, and I always appreciate the company.â You glanced up with a gentle smile.
You knew Wanda and Pietro werenât actually arguing, yet you wanted to reassure her and Vision nonetheless. The two situated themselves into chairs and conversed about how things were going for them in the compound so far, with the occasional dispute between the twins.
The days carried on like this. You tried to keep busy, Pietro by your side either talking or joining you in whatever you were doing, and Wanda dropping by either on her own, or with Vision, or Clint. And on days when your teammates didnât have missions or other work to do, they would come in to see how you were doing and catch up.
Now that you have finished your one week of bed rest, you were in the clear to fight once more, and can move freely with no pain. However, because you were out for two weeks and rested for one more, you wanted to see if your skills were intact. You and Pietro planned to train and spar together, considering he was new to the team and needed to train regardless. So by the time you stepped foot into the room, you werenât surprised to see he was already there.
âReady to lose krĂĄsnĂĄ?â He wore a grin with his arms crossed. You shook your head with a light smile gracing your lips.
âYouâre going to regret that Maximoff.â You teased him back as you set your duffel bag down.
âIf itâs you, I donât mind it.â His voice dipped into a quieter and slightly lower tone, taking a few closer steps towards you.
âAlready trying to distract me? Scared?â
âNever. Is it working though?â He questioned with a tilt of his head.
âMm letâs be real.â
âWell I still have the rest of the session for it to work.â
âAnd if it doesnât?â You asked while getting into position. âPowers or no powers?â
âHave faith in me.â He teased. âLetâs go with no powers first and then next round with.â He soon backed up and got into a fighting stance as well. Even if his strength is above the average humanâs strength, you fought various times without your power, enough to get an upper hand on him this round. The next round unfortunately wasnât as simple. You obviously knew he was fast and that was an issue. You had to think quickly before one of you made a move. But he didnât give you much time as he knocked you to the ground, ready to keep you pinned to it. Thankfully your instincts kicked in and you shot a jet stream of water out of your hands, not knowing from which direction he would be coming. It ended up working though, as you heard a groan from across the room and spotted Pietro up against the wall. You teleported towards him and pinned him down once more, but not too rough, being that he just hit a wall.
âThat wasnât too harsh was it?â
âPlease, I am not weak, drahĂ˝.â He ran his hand down his face to clear off the water droplets.
âI just want to be sure.â You jokingly put your hands up in surrender before standing up and then holding your hands out for him. He used your hands to stand and shortly after, pulled you towards him and began to shake his head, causing the beads of water to splash onto your skin.
âPietro!â You gasped and tried to pull away, yet he held you firmly, wrapping his arms around you, while laughing as some of the water seeped into your clothes. His embrace was soon met with an empty space in his hold and he realized too late that you had gotten out. He was left with no time to react once he felt a light gush of water on the lower end of his back that traveled up his spine, causing him to spaz slightly from the ticklish feeling. It was your turn to laugh at his reaction now. Your laughter unfortunately only lasted for a few seconds, cut off by the grunt that left your lips when you came in contact with the padded ground. Everything after that was a blur as you and him tussled all over the room, for who knows how long, until the two of you were interrupted by the sound of the training room doors opening, causing the two of you to look up. Tony and Steve took in the sight of the now drenched training room and the headlock you had Pietro in, while Pietro had ahold of your thigh, ready to tug at it. Tony swiftly took his phone out to take a picture of the scene, likely to be used for blackmail, and then stored his phone away once more.
âRight, well when you two are done canoodling, go ahead and clean this place up.â Tony mocked and carefully treaded through the room to turn the fans on; Steve in tow.
âHow long have you two even been in here?â Steve questioned and looked around the room, in awe by how much water landed on practically every surface. You both looked at the clock above the doorframe, though it was Pietro who spoke.
âAbout 30 minutes.â
Pietroâs response was soon followed by a lecture from Steve, who would now supervise your trainings to prevent the room from getting ruined again. The two of you just listened, staying in the position you were found in while looking at Steve. With that, he and Tony left, deciding to train after the place was cleaned up; leaving you and Pietro alone again. Once the doors closed, you looked down at Pietro while he looked up at you before you two busted out laughing. You let go of him, as he did the same, and fell backwards onto the mat, holding your stomach with one hand. By the time your cackles subsided, you let out an exhale and looked around the room that you now had to clean. Pietro, who was between your legs, laying back onto you, followed your line of sight.
âThis should take less than 30 seconds to clean up.â Pietro spoke up, seemingly like he knew what you were thinking. You gazed down at him and raised your brow, so that he could continue on. âCan you absorb water?â
âYeah.â
âThatâs easy then. Iâll carry you around and you can use your ability.â
âThatâs a good idea actually.â You muttered and soon felt your feet lift off the ground. It didnât take long for you to understand what was going on and put your powers into use. Luckily it took less than 10 seconds, and you even managed to dry off both you and Pietro. Unfortunately, going fast at what feels like the speed of light made it difficult to stand up right for a few seconds once Pietro put you down. He kept a hold on your waist with his arm to provide stability before you found it.
âWe should team up more.â
âWe just started training together.â You chuckled at his comment.
âWe work well do we not?â
âWe do, but weâll have to train more to see whatâs the best way to operate. Though I donât think weâll be able to go all out if Steve is going to play babysitter.â
âDamn Steve.â
âSince when do you say damn?â You giggled a bit.
âSince I heard Clint say it.â You guys continued to talk while making your way out of the training area. You werenât paying much attention to where you were going, until you glanced at your surroundings and realized you were in the dormitory wing of the compound. Thatâs when it you hit you that youâve never seen his room and he hasnât seen yours. You wondered if he has even decorated his yet. It didnât take long for your curiosity to be quelled. He opened his door to reveal a basic room that had all the furniture yours had when you first moved into your bedroom.
âDo you have any plans on what youâre going to do here?â
âYou sound like Wanda.â
âThen I know Iâm asking the right things.â He smirked at that and lightly shook his head.
âI donât know what to put here yet.â He muttered while his eyes drifted around the room. âI canât remember the last time I decorated a room of mine.â He muttered once more, but his voice was quieter, almost as if he was trying to recall. The distant look in his eyes told you your assumptions were right.
âIf you want a piece of advice, start with what you like. What youâre interested in or if you see decorations you enjoy, go with that. And if you want your room to be color coordinated, think of the paint color youâd choose first. If you donât care for that though, just shop around and get what catches your eyes.â He took in what you said before nodding, as if a choice was made.
âItâs a good a thing you are already in this room then.â The mischievous expression he usually carries made its way back onto his face. You blinked and you were suddenly sitting up-right on his bed, with your back against the pillows and bed frame, while he was laying down next to you with his arms behind his head.
âI shouldnât have told you anything.â
âAs if you donât like to be in the same bed with me.â He shot you a wink, only to be met with a flick on the top of his head. âOw!â He moved his head away to rub it, and jokingly pouted. âYou are so mean.â
âYou are so flirtatious.â
âYou bring it out of me.â He shrugged.
âEveryone brings it out of you.â
âYou bring it out of me mostest.â You chuckled at that.
âIt would just be most.â
âYou got what I meant either way.â He flicked your thigh in retaliation before smirking up at you, to which you couldnât help but to laugh a bit at.
âI did. So, have you actually thought of anything youâd want here?â
âI think Iâd want more clothes first and then get a shelf with DVDs, so I can watch the sitcoms I used to see with my parents. Maybe change the furniture in here too. And the paint color. Itâs boring.â He huffed through his nose.
âThatâs a good start yeah.â After awhile you spoke up again. âWhen you do go shopping for your room, can I tag along?â
âOf course. You were going with me regardless. After all, I need someone to show me around the city.â He smiled up at you, and you returned the act.
âIn that case, should we invite Wanda and Vision too?â You figured it would be best, given that they still need to decorate their rooms as well, and could probably use a tour guide. He agreed to the idea, and you both went to a bunch of stores with the pair. After what felt like 20 different stores, you all, except for Vision, were hungry. You ended up finding a diner while heading in the direction of the compound and decided you may as well stop there. The four of you entered the quaint restaurant and sat in a booth. You sat beside Pietro who had his arms resting on the back of the seat. You guys stayed silent for some time as you ate, the tiredness leaving little energy to talk after all that browsing and walking. Though it didnât last too long for the quiet to be disrupted due to you noticing your fries were leaving at a faster rate than what you were consuming. You put two and two together and randomly swatted at the air, just above your tray of fries to see if you were right. You heard Pietro suck through his teeth while holding his hand. âSo you were stealing them!â
âYou never said I couldnât!â
âI never said you could! You couldâve just asked.â
âIts not as fun.â You narrowed your eyes at his response and teleported to sit beside Vision, preventing Pietro from further stealing. âOkay okay! Iâm sorry, can I please get some of your fries.â You teleported back to him and nudged your tray towards him. His fast metabolism led to him eventually eating all of it, so you ended up ordering two more trays for both of you. âThank you, milĂĄÄek.â He murmured as he stuffed his face with his burger. You giggled a bit, not thinking he would be this starved. His stuffed face smiled back up at you.
âNo problem Piet.â
âBe careful not to choke Pietro.â Wanda warned, gaining an eye roll from him. He swiftly swallowed his bite.
âIâm not a baby.â
âYou act like it.â She retorted. You took the time to eat once again as they went back and forth. You zoned out for a bit, the day getting to you while the songs from the speakers played faintly in the background. Your eyes skimmed over the walls of the diner, taking in the portraits and signs. They soon landed on a calendar with those cute kitten themed ones, earning a faint smile from you. Your thoughts were shortly interrupted by the twins calling out your name. Your attention reverted back to them.
âHmm?â
âIf we have our own rooms, would it not-â Wanda started, but her words were disrupted by a bright blinding light outside. All of you turned your heads to the flash, standing up ready to fight or to help others flee. The decision was quickly made for the four of you as a loud booming sound shook up the restaurant, and the light beamed bright enough to cause you all to cover your eyes.
You donât know when the flash disappeared, all you knew was that you were blocking your eyes with the back of your arm, and were trying to get rid of the blotchy spots in your vision. Once your vision did return back to normal, it seemed as if the restaurant did too. Each of you got up to check on the few workers in the joint and went to check if there was anything outside. It all seemed as it was before. It was still night, there werenât any damages to the building, and no signs of danger outside. You headed back into the restaurant and took notice of the calendar. The calendar had changed. The day and month were all the same. Everything the same except for the year stated. 1963. Thatâs when a young waitress came up to your table with a relieved sigh.
âI thought you all were going to do a dine and run.â She laughed while holding a hand to her chest. Your eyes followed her hand and traveled to her name tag. She had the same name as your previous waitress, who seemed to be old enough to be a grandmother, and the woman in front of you was definitely not one. Your eyes then took in what shouldâve been the most obvious of all. Her flipped bob, blue eyeshadow, black eyeliner, the prominent bottom lashes, and her diner fit that wasâŚactually pretty much the same. The only new things included were red tights and heels. You each looked at each other with puzzled expressions, all coming to terms with the same conclusion. You turned back to the waitress and smiled.
âNo of course not. Sorry we couldâve sworn we heard a disturbance by our car and wanted to be sure it wasnât anything to worry about.â You said innocently and then reached into your wallet. âActually while youâre here, is it alright if we pay the bill now?â She simply nodded and returned with the bill. You all paid and tipped before leaning closer to whisper amongst yourselves.
âWhat the hell happened?â Wanda asked in a disbelief.
âIâm not sure. I scanned the area and didnât get any clues as to how we got here or where the commotion came from.â Vision whispered, and from what you could tell, was likely still trying to make sense of this. Which is what unsettled you the most. If Vision didnât know, how on Earth could you guys get out of this.
âWe should see if the others know anything of this.â Pietro suggested and you all went with that plan. You got back into the car, pushing the exhaustion aside to make way for your growing curiosity. You peered into the horizon as the car drove, fidgeting with your nails against the steering wheel. You simply hoped the others would have any possible ideas about where this could have even stemmed from.

A/N: Not sure where Iâm headed with this, just know Iâm headed𼸠I think the whole 60s (I presume) thing with the fantastic four is causing me to want to have these four (having four be sent back in time wasnât intentional, and Iâm just now realizing the amount is the same.đ) go through the 60s too cause why not! I also know my memory wonât be accurate if I try to stick to the Avengerâs timeline. :/
I think I might want to do a Wandavision thing with the decades changing, but a slower progression and different plot and villain/s ofc. And because reader could be anybody, know that the decades wonât include racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, fatphobia (essentially all the -isms and -phobias) cause Iâd rather yâall have a good time and not endure thatđ˝
There will probably be some play of societal expectations however, depending on the decade, still unsure. Mainly thinking of dating culture. Also I hope the pacing for this is okay, and that yâall liked this chapter :D (Iâm trying my hardest to refrain from romancing this.)

You felt the comfort of the sun caressing your back, surpassing your night gown and blanket that covered you. That sleep was probably one of the best youâve ever had. You got to cry your heart out that night, yet you didnât close your eyes with a heavy one. Rather, the opposite. And the room that initially felt like a burning reminder of the loneliness death promised, and the cold feeling of the life leaving your body, was no longer. It was replaced by the warmth of the rays reflecting onto the room through the windows, the warmth from the extra blanket hugging your body that was brought by Pietro, and of course, the warmth from Pietro himself. The human body is naturally warm, but thanks to his powers, he was warmer than most. Though it wasnât simply the temperature he gifted your body. No, it was his presence that genuinely lit up the room. It was his presence that soothed your being and allowed you to rest like what happened two weeks ago didnât occur. His presence refrained you from crying all night until the break of day, before you could realize you hadnât gotten an ounce of sleep. He silenced your mind. The chaotic speedster that made quips, found ways to insert jokes in the moments you least expected, and always rushed off; leaving a little tornado of his own when he left the room, had stilled your thoughts. Even if for a moment that night, it was a moment that was enough to stop the whirlpool in your mind. So how could you resist leaning further into his embrace after that. Sure, you did so when sleeping, but now that you were conscious, you couldnât help doing it once more. You could only move so much without risking opening your wounds. Regardless, you still wanted to be near him and the security he brought.
You werenât sure how the two of you ended up in this position. You didnât doubt it was him that did this, since there was no way, you could move onto his lap without waking up. And you know you fell asleep beside him; you just werenât sure why he moved you. It wasnât like you minded it though, seeing as you snuggled up to him.
Sensing you scooch closer and hearing the birds sing their song outside caused a deep inhale and mumble to leave his lips. You couldnât quite make out what he said, however you suspect it was something in Sokovian. He groggily spoke as he covered his eyes with one hand to block the blaring sun. Stretching his back slightly, he fastened his grip on you to make sure you were kept stable.
âMm good morning drahĂ˝.â
âGood morningâ
Exhaling, his shoulders slumped once more after stretching. He rested his chin on the top of your head, seeing as you remained leaning against him. You glanced up, though you couldnât see him very well like this and neither could he.
âThank you by the way.â
âFor what?â You felt him tilt his head to side as his chin moved on your head.
âFor being there. Not just last night but today too. You didnât have to sleepover yâknow? Not that I have an issue with it, I just meant if you wanted to return you couldâve, I mean I wouldn't-â He chuckled at your rambling before cutting you off.
âSlow down, if not, youâre going to leave yourself breathless. And just so you know, I wanted to stay. Plus, I couldnât wake the sleeping beauty, could I?â he teased, and you could sense he was probably starting to smirk too.
âYour sister really was right about this issue of yours.â
âIssue?â He lightly scoffed, but he backed up a bit for you to see the grin painting his face that told you he wasnât actually offended.
âYeah, you flirt non-stop.â You slightly poked fun at him.
âSome would call it charm.â He shrugged a bit.
âCharm at-â you turn your head to look at the time displayed on the tv screen, â8 oâclock in the morning?â
âOh? I didnât know charm had a starting time.â
âI didnât know one could wake up ready to charm others.â
âSo, youâre charmed then?â He said suavely with a sly grin taking over.
âI never said that.â
âNo, but you did hint to it.â You snorted in amusement.
âPietro, there's no way you're doing mind games at this hour.â
âThat wasnât a no.â He playfully remarked.
âNo.â
âOh, how you crush my soul, milĂĄÄek! But just know, you will get charmed next time.â
âNext time?â You smiled while raising your brow in a questioning manner.
âThey told you that youâd be here for a week, no?â
âYeah.â
âSo, then I will come here in that week.â
âThats kind of you, but if youâre busy, you donât have to.â You hesitated for a moment before continuing. âIf you feel guilty about what happened back there, I donât want you to feel pressured to visit. Iâm not saying that's what youâre doing, and either way Iâm thankful for all you have done. Genuinely, I mean yesterday meant everything to me, but I donât want you to feel required to be here. Iâm sure you and Wanda have a lot of adjusting to do to this place and must be dealing with the aftermath of Ultron still. I donât want to get in the way of any of that.â
He stayed silent; however, you didnât miss the way his eyes softened. âI feel guilty, yes. That is not why Iâm here though.â He pauses and glances at the floor to find his words, wanting to get them right, before looking back at you. âIâve been here for two weeks and youâre right Iâm still adjusting on all aspects. Including friendships. And the others are adjusting to me and Wanda. Theyâve been friendly, most are. Though some are still on alert. I see it in their eyes and the way they stiffen around us. I understand that they must have their guard up, but it sucks to know others are waiting for you to turn around and betray them.â His eyes became distant as he stared at the blanket, debating if he should share this part of him with you. He decided to go for it since you shared a part of yourself yesterday; whether you meant to or not. While you didnât say what had gotten you upset, you were still willing to wear your heart out on your sleeves around him.
âAnd it's hard to not feel the same way about them when the only reason we joined Hydra was to protect our country.â He swallowed, and his jaw hardened as he resisted the tears threatening to escape. âI was 10 when my country was bombed. Shredded to bits and pieces by the weapons made from Stark industries. The war affected everybody, including my family. We were having dinner when one missile made its way to the building we lived in. It impacted the first two floors. Our parents went to see the damage while me and Wanda hid under the bed. A second missile is sent a few feet away from us. But it never went off. For two days it stayed there mocking us as me and Wanda laid under the rubble it caused, thinking any second would be our last if we had even moved an inch. Once we did get out, we found our parents didnât even make it. It was only me and Wanda who could look after each other. Orphans in a war-torn country.â He huffed. âIt felt like it was written in stone that we would fail. Not just us, but our neighbors and friends and strangers we saw on the street that had all lost something or someone. We were only teens when we got offered a chance to join Hydra. Testing in exchange for freeing our home from war. Told we could seek revenge on the backhand we were slapped with. But, as you know, that was not the case.â He stopped to look back at you, seeing the tender gleam in your eyes as you tried to stall the tears threatening to slip. He forced his head to turn the other way to fight off the tightening feeling in his chest and the glossiness in his eyes.
âDealing with the loss of my homeland, after having lost so much already, and then somehow trying to make friends with the people Iâve despised.......it isnât easy yâknow?â He laughed, though it was more of a somber laugh than a humorous one. The continuous, but subtle movements of his fingers being further indication. âIt's a constant reminder of all that led up to this. And everybody is either on the edge of their seat, waiting for us to slip up, or is too busy with their own work and personal life. For the past two weeks, the only one who doesnât feel like a rival to me anymore is Clint. His body language is relaxed around me, and he keeps up with me. And then you woke. You werenât on guard when you spoke to me and my sister. I donât know if it was the meds or what,â a smile finally graces his lips as he chuckles, âbut it was like you forgot we used to be on different teams. What I do know is you were willing to give your life, not just for me, but for others too. For a boy you didnât know, your comrade, and a guy who used to be an enemy of yours. You did it without a second thought.â He turned to face you once more. âYâknow thatâs batshit crazy but commendable.â You joined him in his laughter this time, to which the laughter turned into smiles of sincerity. âAnd if there is anyone on this team, I could choose to get to know better and be friends with, why wouldnât it be you, kapiÄka?â His words softened at the end while his delicate smile remained on his face. âYou didnât know my story; all you knew was that we were teammates now and that was enough for you to treat me like one. And if thatâs all it took for you to think of me as one of your own, then I donât want to miss out on that. So no, youâre not getting in the way of things.â
You stared at him in silence, all misty eyed and speechless. You hadnât expected for him to share that part of himself. Neither did you think that his past would be as jarring as it was for him and Wanda. You hadnât expected anything in particular, as you never searched it up. You did know they were advocates for their country from what Fury told you, but wouldâve never guessed their reasoning was this fueled.
âMy door will always be open for when you want to join me then. Plus, I really need some people on this team around my age, and I do hope you stay a part of our group. Not simply cause of age of course, but because you havenât ever given me a reason not to think so. If anything, youâve only been showing me signs that you should be here.â
âI think I will. As long as I have you, Clint, and Wanda, I can manage. And you will definitely see me here during the week.â
âI better.â You chuckled a bit. Though, your smile dwindled when you recalled all that he told you. âAnd Iâm really sorry about your childhood by the way. Or, well your whole up bringing. I had no idea you went through all of that. I canât imagine what it was like. You and Wanda lost so much and tried to save your home from war, to only lose it all.â Your eyes veered off towards your lap before glancing back at him. âI totally get it if you have a hard time trusting or getting along with us for all the things you and your country have gone through. I didnât even know it was Tonyâs weapons that caused all this harm to your home. I donât even know if he knows.â You rubbed your face while shaking your face and sighed. âGod, I really am sorry for all that you guys have had to deal with. You know if you two need help with anything, Iâll offer as much as I can. Iâm confined to my bed for now, as you know, but Iâll be able to help more once Iâm not. I know it canât undo or bring back anything or anyone, and I know it wonât ever be enough to atone for the shit we caused, yet Iâd rather do something than to let the aftermath figure itself out.â
âMe and Wanda would appreciate that. Itâs true things canât be undone, however any help now that can be offered to my community would mean a lot for us.â You nodded solemnly.
âWeâll do as much as we can then.â You stayed silent for a moment as you processed. âIâm still not sure what to say.â You accidentally let the thought out.
âThatâs fine. It was a lot for me and Wanda when we realized we wonât be able to see it anymore. Sometimes we just go quiet and we know what the other is thinking about when that happens. So, if you want to do that, we can. But, um, just to clarify you will be my friend, right?â He wore a gentle, and somewhat abashed smile before taking out a friendship bracelet out of his pocket with a wave charm dangling from it. You couldnât help the upturn of your lips upon seeing the endearing act.
âPietro thatâs really sweet.â You cooâd.
âI know.â You rolled your eyes at his cockiness but couldnât drop your smile. âSo, are you or are you not? I will hold onto it if you arenât.â He teased while the edge of his lip quirked up.
âI will, I will.â You laughed at his antics and held your hand to retrieve it. âAw, but I donât have one for you.â
âIâll bring the supplies tomorrow then.â You nodded your head excitedly at the idea.
âYou should! I might make a few bracelets then, so we can fill the time. Speaking of, when did you even find time to make this?â
âJust a minute ago. I had to figure out how to lighten things up so.â He shrugged and you snorted softly while also shaking your head, but grinned at his response.

A/N: Hoping yâall liked this! This was quite lengthy, so hopefully yâall enjoy that. Also I did try to hint that Pietro is claustrophobic; hates small spaces or places too crowded cause theyâll make him feel suffocated (due to what happened when he was ten), and that is why I included that part in chapter one of everyone joining readerâs room, causing him to leave. (Praying yâall caught that)đš And if you guys have any critiques about the pacing or anything else, please tell me, itâll be much appreciated đ˝
Pietro Maximoff x Reader (GN) | SFW
Chapter 1
Summary: You woke from your two-week coma after fighting Ultron and his robots. Because you sacrificed yourself for three people, one of them being Pietro, youâre met with the twins as they keep you company in the compoundâs medical area. Faced with their care for you, their bickering, and Pietroâs flirting, you watch in amusement while you recover.
Warnings: Mentions of possible death, violence (AOU type of violence)
Word Count: 1,571
Czech Translations:
MilĂĄÄek - Sweetheart/darling
KapiÄka- Droplet
Extra: This is meant to be a series, so not much happens currently cause the twins and reader are practically strangers + youâre still drowsy-ish :P BUT, there is flirting from Pietroâs behalf đIf Iâm patient enough, hopefully this goes as strangers -> best friends -> lovers. Also, listen to Fiona Appleâs cover of Across the Universe with this if youâd like
âË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâË.ŕźâ
Your eyes adjusted as your lashes fluttered. Being that you were disoriented, it took you a couple of blinks to realize it was night. The only light source in the room came from a screen monitor on your right that read your heart rate. You rubbed your eyes to clear your vision a bit better before hearing two voices on your left. âYouâre awake.â the Sokovian twins said in slight surprise and amusement. Funny enough, they didnât just say it in unison, but they both leaned forward in your direction to get a clearer view of you, even though Wanda was sitting on a chair near your bedside, and Pietro stood next to her. You werenât sure whether to be a bit creeped out or to chuckle at the twinâs timing. Â
Still gathering your belongings, you simply nodded and were about to sit up, until you felt a pair of hands on your shoulder, gingerly, but firmly keeping you laid down. âAlready trying to fracture your bones again?â Pietro lightly joked as he took a step back. You furrowed your brows together and vaguely tilted your head to the side. Just how terrible are my injuries? Iâm in the compoundâs med wing thatâs for sure, but why? Wasnât I just in-Â
And thatâs when your memories start to resurface. The twins, fighting in Sokovia, Clint holding a boy in his arms while Pietro runs over to save them from Ultronâs robots. A scream from across the battlefield is soon heard. Wandaâs scream. And he froze. Caught between saving Clint and an innocent boy or his sister. The only person left close to him. Everyone knew what the answer was, but in his millisecond of deciding and fear of his last of kin dying, bullets began to launch towards him. He didnât even notice you heading towards him. You immediately teleported to him, catching the first few bullets with your body as you conjured up a water barrier to stop, or at least to slow the rest of the bullets. Yet, you underestimated just how many would be sent before you could put up a shield. You held up the barrier nonetheless, using the last of your energy until the bullets stopped before collapsing onto the floor.Â
You blinked once more, somewhat wide eyed after remembering it all before returning your head to itâs upright position. âIs everyone safe?â your hoarse voice laced with concern. You tried to clear your throat, realizing just how dry it was. How long have I even been out for?Â
Wanda handed you a cup of water with a straw and you murmured a quiet thank you. It was all you could muster up before trying to sit up, completely forgetting, and not knowing the full extent of your injuries. Pietro luckily was swift to keep you in place once more. âMilĂĄÄek, you really need to be careful.â he said in a cautious tone; although, a light smirk still graced his lips. âHere.â he muttered. He grabbed the cup from your grasp and delicately held your chin up with three of his fingers as he tilted your head up enough to sip from the straw. You felt your face get a bit warm at the feeling of being coddled like this. It certainly wasnât your first time, given that youâve been in predicaments like this where youâd come back from a mission and end up injured to the point of needing one of your teammates to assist you. Still, it was rare. Which is partially what made you embarrassed by this gesture. But you also had eyes and could see that the guy was conventionally attractive with an accent that made most swoon. Add all that to this, and you wouldâve felt your knees give in, if it werenât for the cot that you were laying on. You got snapped out of your thoughts though when he spoke again. Â
âHm, better? And yes, everyone is safe for the most part. Well, some people were injured but not to this extent.â He gestured with his head towards you and your condition. Â
You nodded as you took that answer in, relieved that the rest were doing better. âAnd Ultron?â you asked quietly as your voice was still recovering. Â
âDefeated. And he took Sokovia with himâ Wanda chimed in with a solemn look that plagued both their faces. She shifted her gaze to her lap as she fiddled with her hands. A flash of blue and silver appeared once more as Pietro stood by her side again and squeezed her shoulder. He wouldâve hugged her, but he knew she was trying to refrain from crying. And heâd be lying if he said he wasnât either. A hug guaranteed the floodgates would open, so a hand on the shoulder would have to do for now.Â
âYes, but at least everyone made it out alive.â he sighed quietly, his stare mimicking Wandaâs as it moved on from Wanda to the floor. You couldnât tell if he was trying to lighten the mood for his sister or perhaps, for himself. Regardless, he briskly changed the conversation before you could give it more thought and before he could dwell on the loss of his homeland any further. Â
âHow are you feeling? Yâknow they gave you a bunch of painkillers. Enough to sedate a horse.â He huffed in amusement through his nose as a small smile made its way onto his lips. âBut I imagine the pain lingers?â he asked with a subtle tilt of his head. Â
âI havenât really focused on it, but I guess Iâm alright. I mean I havenât moved much. I do feel pain if I stretch. Mainly in my back, ribs, and waist.â you noted with a rasp to your voice. You began to gently rub your throat. âActually, can I get more water please? Sorry I just didnât realize how thirsty I was.â You smiled apologetically at them before getting help from Pietro again. âAre you or did you just want me close to you again?â he teased in a low voice, quirking a brow with a sly smile gracing his lips. Though it quickly fell as Wanda smacked his arm that wasnât occupied, while you somewhat choked on the water due to his response. He sucked air through his teeth as his brows furrowed while feigning a glare. âIdiot! Theyâre here injured after sacrificing themselves and you still find time to flirt!â That is all you heard from her until she began to speak in Sokovian; grabbing the bridge of her nose as she closed her eyes and shook her head. You raised your brows while watching the two argue in their native tongue. With the bickering continuing, you realized this may take a minute and tried to lean your head forward to get a sip of the water, being that Pietro was sorta facing away with the cup farther away from you. Your neck was fully stretched forward at this point before the door opened and the twins stopped bickering as you all looked to see who entered. Â
Clint walked in with his brows furrowed upward in a confused manner, peering at the scene in front of him. He couldâve sworn he heard arguing that was most definitely from the twins.
He quickly digested what was happening. Trying to fight off a snort with humor in his eyes, he gently said, âYouâre up,â and made his way to you with relief washing his features. Stopping beside Pietro, he typed on his phone rapidly and stored it in his pocket.
âEver so smart eh.â Pietro joked while looking towards Clintâs direction.
âAs if you didnât say the same thing.â The words slipped from your mouth faster than you could stop yourself, and faster than Wanda could say it. Â
He looked back at you in amusement, not expecting a quip. Playfully pouting, he responded with, âAw, kapiÄka, I thought you were on my side.â Â
âTaking multiple bullets wasnât enough?â you jested.Â
âIâll find a way to make it up to you-â he murmured smoothly with a toothy grin to accompany it. Planting his hand on your cot and resting his weight on that one arm as he leaned to the side slightly, hand on his hip, until Clint cut in.Â
âJesus get a room.â Clint feigned a face of disgust with his nose scrunching up.
âIs this not their room?â Pietro retorted.Â
âTemporary.â you added. Â
âAnd with guests.â Wanda joined in while raising a brow and folding her arms in judgement of her brother.
âOr you and Clint could always leave.â Pietro said in a light-hearted manner and shrugged.
âYeah, about that-â Clint was cut off before he could finish, as the rest of your teammates, both avengers and agents, filed in with stuffed animals, cards, and balloons, trying to keep a hushed voice despite being glad you were conscious. Â
âOh wowâ you muttered with wide eyes, seeing them crammed in like a pack of sardines. Â
They all practically touched shoulders and you could tell Pietro and Wanda were getting uncomfortable with the stuffiness of the room. Pietro tensed and Wanda glanced at him then returned her gaze back to you.Â
âWe should go, but weâll see you later. Rest easy please.â she said gently before her brother nodded. âAnd donât try to break anymore ribsâ he murmured with a small smirk before a blur of blue and white filled the area they used to stand in.
Although, you didnât miss the blue envelope that lightly plopped onto your bedside table at the same time that everyone was bombarding you with questions.

I tagged everyone but idk why some people's accounts are not showing upđ
"THIS PLACE IT'S BEAUTIFUL" you whispered to yourself, eyes taking in the cave you was in. It's been a day since you was taken to this mysterious place, your ankle already fine from whatever treatment the healers have used.
Harucan had been around you the whole time, bringing up random things to you and showing them.
You also met the healer that treated your ankle, her name was Akna. Akna was gentle and kind with you, making you feel much more at ease with being in this mysterious place yet you was still riddled in fear for your life.
The only source of happiness you did get was the little visits Huracan would give you through out the day, a guard chasing behind him as he reaches towards you and rung his arms around you tightly.
He became even more clingy to youâ the woman that saved his life, he wanted to return the favor of you helping him by making your time spent in the cave a bit more interesting so he brought random things he found around the cave and in depths of Talokan to you.
Your ankle felt much better, allowing yoi to walk slowly again which caused Huracan to pull you by the wrist to show you around the cave properly.
The place was indeed beautifulâmagical. The blue lights hanging from above , the water that escaped from the cracks gently falling from above.
Huracan points towards a small hut, the roof made out of straw and the walls made of clay. Around the place was weeds that grew from the cracks on the groundâ the small hut was surrounded by what looks like objects from the surface worldâ a scuba diver helmet, a recorder, a fisherman's boot..?
You suppressed a laugh as you thought about the little mermaidâ how Ariel would collect anything that was found from the surface world in the ocean.
Huracan tugged at your hand towards the dimly lit hutâ wanting to take you inside of it, you was hesitant, scared that you left the place you was at and it would cause the Talokanil King to be upset with you intruding.
"Come!" Huracan insisted, you took a thick gulp and allowed the boy to drag you to the hut, you were about to enter until a hand sudden grasped your unoccupied hand sending a fast chill of fear to spiral down your spine, goosebumps irrupting and covering your skin as you go pale.
" Huracan, why did you bring this surface dweller here?" You heard a gruff voice says from behind you , the grip on your wrist getting a bit tighter as it yanks you away from the young boy as you let's out a shocked gasp.
You turn around slowly, fear radiating off of you to see a Talokanil man, his skin a similar shade to Huracan's. He looked fierce and even more scarier than Namor, a scowl behind his apparatus.
"Attuma! I just wanted to show her my father's paintings." the boy whines out, a pout forming on his face but Attuma's stern expression didn't flutter at the child's attempt to let thr two of you off the hook.
You didn't understand anything the two said but from the Talokanil's tone in voice he was not happy. At all.
Attuma holds you by the arm tightly and pushes you away from the hut, he gently takes Huracan's hand but the boy slips it out of his grasp.
"Huracan.." the Talokanil warrior says in a warning tone but the boy ignores him and ducks under the man's arm to be by your side.
'Why does this kid like me so much?' You thought, your heart beating faster as Attuma sighs and just pushes you forward to walk back to where you was meant to be.
Attuma dislikedâ no he hated the idea that Namor brought a surface dweller, once again down to their secret kingdom. Attuma pushes you towards the hammock once they reached the place you was meant to be as you falls onto the flimsy cloth that was 'your bed'.
'My arm..' you thought, rubbing it gently as Huracan was pushed away by Attuma to not get closer to you.
How could his king, his Ruler, K'uk'ulkan â so easily trust this surface dweller? Did he not learn from what had happened a few months back with the Wakandians? Even though they had an alliance, Attuma still didn't like this ideaâ he felt that his home is now at even more threat than it was before and now seeing that you was roaming around freely in their secret home made him even more questionable towards K'uk'ulkan.
With a warning glare towards youâknowing that you won't understand his threat towards you, he walks awayâ Huracan being dragged with him as you just watched, fully understanding the wordless threat towards you.
'I need to get back home.' You thought, your body laying on the hammock as you curl your legs into your chest, your heartbeating faster that you could infact â be killed at any moment.

Namor's fingers gently touched the pearls in his hand, a heavy sigh leaves past his lips as he thinks about his late Queen.
She , Huracan and the Talokanils where the most precious things to him yet he had lost one of the things he cherished with his heart and soul. When the queen died, part of his heart also died with herâ for him, she was the sun to him.
Her beautiful smile forever etched into his mind as a shaky sigh leaves past his parted lips as he leaves the pearls that had crafted pieces of vibranium threaded with it back down on his tableâ the last gift he had given to her before she was taken away from him and their son.
"FATHER! " He heard an all too familiar voice call out to him, instantly he was alarmed at the tone of voice Huracan had called for him. His thoughts instantly drifting towards you, his breath hitching at the fact that you may have harmed his son.
He rushed out of the hut, heart beating faster only to find Attuma holding onto the boy's arm tightly, bringing him towards the hut as the boy wails.
A sigh leaves post Namor's lips, feeling revealed that his son is okay but his brows furrow when he sees the way Attuma held him as he raises up his hand towards Attuma, instantly he let go of the child's arm as Huracan ran towards his father to hug his waist.
"Attuma is being mean to me again." The boy sobs into his father's chest as he gently pats his back.
"What happened now, Attuma?" The king asks.
"Huracan tried bringing the surface dweller in this area." Attuma simply says, Namor's eyes slightly widening as he looks down at Huracan.
"My child why did you try and do this? you know we can not trust her fully." Namor states, Huracan's glossy eyes looking up at his father.
Namor himself, does not really know what to do with you. It was a rushed decision to bring you to Talokan to heal you from your wound and you had a panic attack, if he had left youâ you would have surely being dead. He wanted to leave you but his son didn't approve of this, insisting that you saved his life and took such great care of him.
He didn't think back than, now he is left with a problemâ how is he going to send you back without you opening your mouth? What if you planned all of this, what if you manipulated Huracan?
Namor's trust in the surface world was weak, the only surface people he now trusted were Wakanda.
He had made a grave and foolish mistake yet for his son it was not. He had never seen his son so enthusiastic since the death of his mother.
"I just wanted to show her the paintings you did." Huracan says as Namor's gaze soften.
"Hura.. you know we can't trust theâ" no y/n is different, she saved me. You are lying about the people from above." Huracn says defiantly letting go of his father, tears brimming his eyes.
"Huraâ""leave me alone!" the boy shouts as Huracan pushes his father hand away from him.
"I'm tired of only being here and believing that all the surface people are bad yet the surface world is not as bad as you said. " Huracan shouts and backs away from his father and Attuma as he rans away before screaming,
"And ice cream is amazing and I hate you for keeping it away from me!" the boy says before diving into the pool, his father sighing, brows furrowing at the child's words as he have heard about this so called desert before.
"This child." the king mumbled out, heart stinging at the word hate as Huracan had thrown it towards him quite a few times.
"We should get rid of the woman, K'uk'ulkan." Attuma suddenly states, grabbing Namor's attention.
"And how we do that, Attuma? " Namor asks already knowing the answer to his question.
"Killing her." The Talokanil warrior says. Namor's creased his brows , a frown forming on his face. Knowing that if he was to kill you , Huracan would become even more hateful towards him and he didn't want this.
"I can not. Huracan would become hysterical." Namor says, watching as Attuma frowns deeply.
"It's for Huracan's own good. We don't know what's her true motives are, Kâukâulkan." Attuma says, voice filled with warning. Namor was torn between the safety of his people and his son's fixation with some random surface dweller (you) , he regrets deeply spoiling the young child.
"You spoilt him way too much." Attuma mutters as Namor replies " Let's give her some time, we can't just go about and kill her. If she does anything that goes against us or is a threat thanâ we will kill her."
Attuma didn't like this decision as he gives K'uk'ulkan a firm nodâ the tension between the two strong as Attuma walks away from K'uk'ulkan, his doubt and faith in his leader becoming weaker as he clenched his fist in anger and dismay.

YOU FELT LIKE YOU WAS SINKING, sinking deeper and deeper into an abyss of darkness. You felt like you was suffocating, you couldnt see anything- your lungs felt heavy as if cement had dried within them.
Your eyes snap open wide, trickles of cold sweat runs down your skin, your back wet as if water had been splashed on to it.
Room spinning around, spiraling until it abruptly stop - gaze being met with a rocky ceiling where tendrils of blue light hung from it-your vision still blurry.
You closes your eyes, eyelashes drenched with tears, underneath your eyes wet and jaw stung. You breaths slowly, chest heaving up and down in an unrhythmical manner.
You moved your body slightly, mind still feeling fogged- only for your heart to skip a beat when your whole body seemed to move to the side, you did it again only for yourbbody to move to the other side.
You blink your eyes a few times, gently lifting your upper body up, the place you slept on felt unstable as your vision was much clearer - your eyes widen to find that you was in a cave and that you was laying on a hammock. The cave was adorn by what looked like blue lights giving the place a suttle blue glow.
Your heart starts to beat widley, throat parch and skin feeling clamy.
'Where am I..?' You thought, trying to figure out whether you was still dreaming but reality crashed upon you as memories from last night came crashing down, breath hitching as you can suddenly feel the cold harsh rain that fell on you, the pain that was on your right ankle and Huracan's enraged father.
You shake your head slightly to get rid of those thoughts as your fingers suddenly felt something soft underneath your touch- it was blankets that were neatly placed on you , you quickly removed it to look down at your right ankle, only to find it was wrapped in bandages, gently you moved it to the side and felt a slight pain.
It was less painful then you thought it would be causing your brows to furrow slightly.
Your eyes move up your body to find that you was now in a cream colored dress that had turquoise embroidery at the edges, the fabric felt extremly soft agaisnt your skin as you lift your arm to see it was a long sleeved dress.
The sound of footsteps echoing agaisnt the cave grabs your attention as you divert your attention towards the sound, heartbeating faster as your gaze is met with a woman- her skin is a marvelous shade of cerulean similar to Huracan's.
Your throat ran dry, the feeling of fear sinking within you when the lady made eye contact with you, the mask covered her mouth and nose, but you could still see the frown behind it.
You watched as the woman came towards the place you was, a tray was in her hands as she came towards you, the both of you making eye contact but the woman breaks it to leave the tray down on a small crafted table that was placed close to where the hammock was.
The woman did not say anything and just walks away leaving you restless s you gaze down at the tray to see it was filled with a variety of fruits- some you recognized and some you had never seen your whole life.
'Could she be related to Huracan?' You thought, mind a mess as yourbanxiety was slowly surfacing.
'Why did they not leave me on the beach?' Or 'Why did he not kill me?' You thought as no formidable answer came to mind making you feel even more anxious as your thoughts are once again interrupted by footsteps , gaze once again lifting up only for your eyes to widen slightly- it was Huracan's father.
Every step the king took was elegant and filled with authority. He still had that aura of regality with him, if not it was much stronger due to the cape he now adorned which was tucked into golden plates of armor on his shoulders.
What you noticed about him was that his skin didn't turn into a shade of cerulean nor did he wear any apparatus with water in it- you was curious but your fear was even greater.
He now stood a few feet from the hammock you sat on. The king's eyes held a look of apathy towards you, making you feel like you wanted to dissolve into nothing under his gaze.
"You're finally awake." The king breaks the silence between the two of you, gaze never leaving you as he continued to speak.
"To expiate for the way I behaved towards you in such a hostile manner last night, I have brought you here so that my healers can help and assist to heal you much faster." K'uk'ulkan states, voice echoing through out the cave- sending chills to spiral down your spine.
Feeling great trepidation, you gave a small nod and mumbled a soft 'thank you'.
K'uk'ulkan could see the uneasiness bubbling within you, the way you anxiously let your fingers dig into the blankets that surrounded you.
He was extremly grateful towards you for saving and nourishing his son but he couldn't fully trust youâ your acts of kindness could have a hidden ulterior motive yet he took the risk because of his son's attachment towards you.
K'uk'ulkan was just going to leave you on the beach- that being his way of showing gratitude by not killing you for finding out about the Talokanils existence but seeing his son cry over your body, pleading him to save you- he could not just leave you, leading to you being brought here to heal.
You finally mustered the courage to ask him where you was but the sound of feet pattering agaisnt the floor echoed through out the cave as from a conner Huracan appears, a large smile graced upon his face from behind his apparatus.
Your eyes widen, an unknown smile gracing your features as the king looks away from you and towards the young boy that entered the place he was not allowed to.
"Hura what are you-"y/n!" The child excitedly shouts cutting his father's words and runs past him, only to head towards you.
"Huracan, wow ! Slow dow-" your words being muffled when the boy jumps and hugs you tightly almost dropping the both of you off the hammock as it sways unsteadily.
Hauran was elated at the sight of you still being alive, his arms rung around you tightly. He was anxious the whole night about you, pestering his father non stop- he just so happened to sneak up to the surface when he saw his father going and to his luck found you awake again.
"I'm so happy you are alive!" The boy cried out and finally let's go of you, only to cling onto your arm and take a seat on the Hammock.
You roll your shoulders due to the boy hugging you so tightly and the fact that his hug was almost bone crushing.
"Huracan, stop being clingy- you might hurt her even more." The king sighs out tiredly ,cautiously watching as you gave Huracan a gentle side hug.
"Hurcan seems to have taken a great liking towards you , usually he finds it hard to trust others and to create a bond with them." The king says in english towards you as you finally look up to make eye-contact with him, his brown eyes were not as harsh as they were last night but you could still see the uneasiness swirling with in them.
"I guess I am honored to earn his trust" you say thoughtfully as you swallow thickly.
" I would have not had anyone to assist me since I live alone, so once again thank you urm.." your words dying down slightly towards the end since you didn't know what to call the man.
"Namor." He states not too keen on allowing you to call him by his real name as he was still wary about you.
"K'uk'ulkan!" the boy says suddenly and points an accusing finger towards his father- who gave the young child a firm look.
"It's Namor to her, my child." K'uk'ulkan says, Huracan could only retaliate by sticking his tongue out towards his dad, this causing you to let out a stifled laugh which caused K'uk'ulkan to glare at you instantly cutting short your laugh.
"Y/n! you must eat, so you can get better! " the child says, lifting up what looks like a piece of melon towards you as you give the boy a smile as you understood what he meant from his gestures.
"It's okay, Hura. I'm not hungr-gwh" he pushes the small piece of melon into your mouth cutting your words as you was forced to take a bite.
You chewed the fruit slowly causing Hurcan to smile widely and feel happy that now he can take care of you.
K'uk'ulkan watched the two interact , he felt a slight pang of jealousy towards you, the surface dweller because you was able to form such a close relationship with the child.
Ever since Hurcan's mother's passing- the boy and his father's strong relationship was slowly breaking, K'uk'ulkan had made a promised to the young child that he won't let anything happen to his mother but that promise was broken along with Huracan's trust for his father when Huracan found his mother unmoving, the illness she had- had won against them leaving behind a heartbroken child and father.

PART 1
Soulmates. Many cultures and religions have different interpretations and stories about this concept.
The Greek philosopher Plato wrote that humans once had four arms, four legs and two faces. He stated that Zeus split us in half as a punishment for our pride, and we were destined to walk the Earth searching for our other half,
In Japanese culture it is believed that a magical cord connects two souls. It may stretch or tangle, but never break. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances
while in Hindu culture, there's an idea that you have a karmic connection with a certain soul. It is called lehnu in the Gujarati language, which is the link with another soul that causes you to keep crossing paths, each time having a good impact on each other and improving our lives for the better.
There's many interpretation of what soulmates are truely here for, almost everyone in this world has one â a person that you could find comfort in, confined in and is your other half.
But for you, you still never found yours. Everyday you hoped to find your other half but nothing. It's been years and you passed the point of when most people found their other half, making you feel anxious and scared.
What if you never find them or what if you weren't destined to have one ? Most people start to form a marking on their wrist at 18â the marking being one that resembles something that both people have a strong connection with.
Most cases people get their soulmate marking as late as the age of 24 but you have passed that age making you worried and now almost hopeless that you weren't given another half.
The sound of the ocean waves crashing against the ship broke you from your depressed thoughts as your skin tingle, your teeth grinding agaisnt each other causing your fingers to twitch as you felt extremly sensitive to the harsh noises as you placed your noise canceling headphones onâyour body instantly easing up once you connected your headphones.
You were currently on a ship in the Atlantic Oceanâto be specific a ship that consisted of CIA agents and the U.S Navy whom were utilizing a vibranium detector in search of vibranium in the ocean.
You were hired as an on board nurse, you job was to be a responder during emergencies, perform patient assessments, assist providence with clinical diagnosing, and administer medications and tests.
Everything was going smoothly, there was no serious issues just people coming in to do their daily vitality check ups.
You were surprised you are managing quite well in this new environment as you are a person who has sensory issues and find certain things to be extremly overwhelming but everything was fine, to be honest you were enjoying this new experience.
It was like a fresh breath of air away from the mundane everyday city life and the consistent searching for your soulmate.
But something also drawn you to join this expedition â not mainly money or change of life but the strong sensation to be close to the ocean.
You found comfort in the ocean. At times when the waves crashed harshly, it did cause you to feel extremly sensitive to the noise but at times when the ocean was calm, it felt like it was calling out to you, to join it.
There was something so hypnotic about the ocean to you, almost every weekend you would be at the beachâ either just taking a walk on the shore and collecting sea shells or dipping your feet in the water.
So when you got the job opportunity to be on board and explore deeper parts of the ocean you could not turn down the offer ( and also the amount of money they were willing to pay you).
'If I can't have a soulmate than money should be my other half and comfort.' You thought, oddly that cheered you up as you thought of the things you want to get yourself once you are back on land as you start to unpack the medication from the stock room onto your shelves , extremly oblivious to the commotion that was occurring on the ship.
You were extremly focused on what you were doing that you didn't realize that someone else was in the room until you turned around, the medication you had in your hand fell to the ground.
Your eyes widening, the pulse behind your ear starts to throb. In front of you stood a man whom held a sharp spear like weapon but what shocked and scared you even more was his appearance. His skin a azure blue, body adorn with jewels and metals and what looked like an apparatus covering his noise and mouth.
A scream leaves past your lips, your heart beating faster. For once you extrmely regret wearing your noise canceling headphones as two people whom also had the same daunting appearance as the man came into the room after hearing your screams, their spears pointed towards you, your hands shakily take off your headphones to hear what they say and to try and communicate with them.
The sharp tip of the spear coming towards your neck, pressing against your flesh as tears start to brim at the corner of your eyes, your heart beating faster and faster as you felt like you were about to hyperventilate.
You have no experience with any combat or fighting, you could not escape this as you blinked your eyes as you start to plead for your life, tears falling from yours eyes and cascading down onto to your cheeks, your cheeks turning an apple red as you choke on your words.
"P-please I'll do anything, please don't kill me. I-I don't want to die." You cried out, your voice shaky as your legs felt weak as you fall to your knees, the spear following your movements.
"We should take her to K'uk'ulkan first, she might have insight on the scientist as the others didn't give in." one of the people said, the language was foreign to you and you didn't understand anything they said as you felt the spear coming closer to your neck once again.
There was no repsone to what the perosn said, instead a strong hand grasped onto your upper arm causing you to whimper as tears cascaded down your cheeks, the person pulling you up to your feet as they dragged you out of the room.
Your mind was jumbled up with so many questions , fear burning through out your body as you felt your senses overload. Your mind was frantically running in circles, your eyes widen when you find the corpses of CIA agents and marines , each brutally murdered and their blood splashed across the metal hallway as the bile in your throat burned, the heavy smell of blood entering your nose making you feel quisy and light headed, your hands and feet tingling as you hoped that this was all just a nightmare.
The chilled night air nips at your skin once you are on the top deck, the night sky and the moon being the witness of what was going on, the moonlight sparkled agaisnt the ocean and the tear stains that stuck to your skin.
There were more of these blue people on top and more corpses of people you have worked with scattered around making you feel nauseas as the man's grip on your forearm tightening as he walked towards a man and woman.
Your heart for some reason suddenly lurched in your chest, a cold draft falling upon you as the pulse in your neck starts to beat faster , you senses becoming even more alert.
"K'uk'ulkan" the three soliders say in unison, the man had his back facing them, a lady next to himâ her skin a similar shade of blue to the men that have captured you but through your blurry eyes you noticed the man that's back was facing youâ his skin was not blue rather a milky brown color. You skin pricked with goosebumps at the sight of him as he turns around.
Everything about him oozed regality from the confidence his body language gave off. He was muscluar and his chets was adorn by a large gold and jade neck plates, a necklace strung with shells and pearls hung around his neck too.
What looked like gold bracletes were cuffed around his biceps, wrists, and ankles.
He was extremly beautiful, the epitome of beauty. It made your heart haywire but his beautiful was covered with a scowl, eyes burning with anger and hatred towards you making you feel uneasy at the mixed emotions you felt towards this odd stranger.
You continued to cry, in fear of your life, you have never been in such a situation. Your breathing coming out uneasy as Kâukâulkan comes towards you, his spear being held in a position to strike but when you look up at him again, your eyes filled with fear, tiredness and pain, your eyes that sparkled like the light that reflects off of the ocean â he hesitate.
Something warm fills his chest, his heart banging agaisnt his chest frantically as he without a second thought looked down at his wrist, a small marking was carved into his skin. It looked like someone had taken a knife and had curved the sign of the water element, his gaze moving away from this and towards you.
His gaze softens, the gaze that was once filled with hatred changed. He signals for his people to let go of you and they do without hesitation as you crumbled to the ground, loud sobs leaving past your lips as you quiver in fear.
K'uk'ulkan look down at you, he gaze at you with confusion and wonder. His heart in conflict that a surface dweller is his soulmate. The person he had been waiting for nearly 500 years. He had waited for centuries for his other half that he had almost given up on the idea of him having a soulmate.
Your loud sob breaks him out of his thoughts as his brows furrow in concern as he bends down towards you, your eyes closed shut in fear as you start to breath heavily.
Without hesitation, K'uk'ulkan placed his hand on your shouldâ an instant surge of electricity shocked the both of you causing your eyes to open and his to widen in shock. The sensation felt amaizng, it seemed to calm you down and it made him feel a slight ease in his heart.
You look up at him with teary eyes, your gaze being met with warm brown eyes that calmed you down abit as a warm hand suddenly came and cupped your cheeks gently, your eyes widening at this sensation that made your skin tingle, your heart beat faster as the pad of his thumb gently wiped away the tears that collected underneath your eyes, you sniffles lightly.
The fear still stuck to you as your eyes move away from his and towards the people that surrounded you making you to take in a shaky breath in.
"It's okay." he spoke in english, his voice was soothing, it made your heart flutter as you start to breath normally your hands on their own moved towards the large hands that cupped your face as you placed your hands on top of his. That same electrifying sensation incapsulated the both of you, your hands felt soft against the top of his.
He gently moves his hand off of your face, as he takes your left hand in his. Your eyes still trained onto him, your soul aching as he looks down at your wrist and saw the freshly red scar marked on it â a water sign as he brushed his thumb aagisng it sending a shiver down your skin as you look down, his hand gently holding your hand as you notice the marking on your wrist, your eyes widen, heart skipped a beat as you looked back up at him but your still felt scared, the people around the two of you still made you feel uneasy as you quiver lightly.
K'uk'ulkan noticed this and without hesitation, he pulls you towards him. Your eyes widen as your body shook from fear, from everything that had just occured.
He held onto you delicately in his arms in a protective manner. You placed your hands on his bare chest, his skin was moist yet warm just being close to him made you feel safe as he gently pets your hair and soothingly whispers to you.
"I have waited for you, for so many centuries." He softly says as he gently tucks behind a strand of your hair. A warm gaze on his face as you finally calmed down.
He gently lifts you up with him, his arm securely wrapped around your waist as your side was flushed agaisnt him as he turns towards Namora and says something to her that you didn't understand, you watched as the woman warily eye you but nods her head , she indicates to the other warriors to leave as they all jump off the ship and into the water causing your eyes to widen as Kâukâulkan notices this and gently pats his hand agaisnt your waist to comfort you.
You watched as the woman takes off the apparatus on her face and hands it to the man, he nods his head as she jumps into the water.
K'uk'ulkan turns toward you, a soft expression on his face as he holds it in front of your face . One of his hands gently placed on the side of your face as he stares deeply into your eyes.
" you have to trust me and wear this mask, I will take you to a much safer place and explain everything to you. " he gently explained, your eyes showed slightly conflict making him feel anxious for you response.
You gulped thickly and you placed your hand over his.
"I'll come with you but what is your name? " you asked him, your heart pounding agaisnt your chest.
A smile cracked on his face.
" K'uk'ulkan " he says, your brain engraving the name into your mind.
"and yours ? "
"Y/n " you said, his head tilt lightly and the smile was still etched on his features.
" y/n " he repeats, testing your name on his tongue as it rolled off with ease from his mouth, the way he said your name made your heart skip a beat.
"I'm ready, K'uk'ulkan. " you softly said, a shiver running down his spine when you uttered his name as he gently place the mask on your nose and mouth as he softly say something that slowly made you feel drowsy before everything went dark.

IT WAS NOW EVENING, the sun dipping below the horizon kissing the ocean goodbye, the sky a purplish-orange color adorn with a few grey clouds as Huracan and you were still outside enjoying the last bits of the day before it was time to go back in.
You had came to term with the fact that Huracan staying with you was only going to be momentarily. You grew attached to the child due to the loneliness that you felt from staying by herself for months in isolation, away from others due to your health issues.
You wondered if Huracan was also lonely and just wanted some company but your mind now questioning if Huracan has a family, what if they are waiting for him? Worried about him and in search of him, thinking of the worst things that could have happened to him. This left you to ruminate over
your thoughts as your gaze fall on the sky, that is becoming darker and darker.
There was thunder clouds looming above you due to the hot weather you experienced today, the clouds were forming and becoming aggravated with each second that passed byâ this alarming you as you walk back to the tidal pool to retrieve Huracan and putting a stop to your fleeting thoughts.
"C'mon, Hura. We need to get back in." You say, watching as the boy breaks through the surface of the waterâ eyes sparkling with life as he listens to you instantly, emerging from the pool only to latch onto your arm, his skin turning back into a shade of blue as you both walk home.
The rain came down. It suddenly came down heavy causing you to gasp in shock when the harsh rain pelted down onto you, you turn towards Huracan to notice that he had his eyes closedâ enjoying the rain water that got soaked into his skin while you on the other hand felt a shiver tingling down your spine even though the air was warm.
Knowing that if you had to stay in the rain for way too longâ you would definitely get sick but watching the boy enjoy the fresh water that falls onto him , you decided to wait a few minutes because seeing his face brighten up from just the simple feeling of rain water against his skin made you realize that the simple things in life is what makes living much better, it made you feel at ease with yourself.
A bright flash of purple and then a loud crackling noise followed by a hiss came from above you and Huracan shocks you at the loud noise and the thunderstorm that has finally brewed up, the rain became even heavier causing your heart to beat faster.
"Let's get back inside, we don't want to become fried fish today." You say, laughing at your lame excuse of a joke which Huracan didn't understand fully but he did understand that you wanted to go back inside from the way your body had stiffened slightly.
He was about to agree but then the sight of a shiny, shell that was a bit closer to the ocean water grabs his attentionâ he wanted to get that shell so that he could give it to you, forgetting that you wanted to go back in as he leaves your side, alarming you as he runs down the bank to go and retrieve the shell.
"Huracan!" You shout out alarmed, the rain pelting down heavily, the sky above you becoming darkâ the only source of light now coming from the lighting that viciously flashed from above and the few outside lights from your house.
You slide down the steep slope to get to the boy only for your flip-flop to get stuck into something and in turn crashing into the youngster causing him to also fall and let out a small yelp.
"oh gosh, Hura! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" You cried out, you moved to his side to see that you had slightly bruised his knee cap, crimson escaping from the bruise as guilt consumes you from being so unconscious and not watching where you walked.
Huracan didn't feel much pain from the small bruise, he was about to tell you it's okay but you tore a small part of your shirt to help stop the bleeding. A small amount of blood covered your finger tips when you wrapped the small piece of cloth around his tiny knee cap, tightening the cloth around it.
A throbbing feeling around your ankle became prominent as you gazes down at your leg, to find that you had slightly twisted your ankle due to your flip-flop getting stuck onto somethingâ that being the whole reason you slipped.
A small cry leaves from your parted lips, the thunderstorm viciously going on above them as the rain fell down. Your body was drenched in rain water, making you shiver adding more to the pain you felt in your ankle.
"Y-Y/N!" the young child cried out grasping onto your shoulders, he gazed at you to find that tears were also trailing down your cheeks with the rain water, your hands covered in wet sea sand and dabs of blood.
This made tears to form in Huracan's eyes, he was now scared and worried about you, the person that took care of him like he was their own childâ he didn't know what to do to help you, making him feel even more worried and scared as the thunder flashed and rumbled.
Your body that trembled suddenly went stiff, your blood running coldâ you felt like you and Huracan were being watched.
You were right.
The sound of something fluttering, similar to the sound of a rattle snake mingled with the harsh noises of the rain, lightning and the waves that crashed close by.
The fluttering sound stops , it suddenly goes eeirely quite, Huracan's whimpers go silent and before you could comprehend whether you was just feeling paranoid âsomething grasped the collar of the shirt you wore and pulled you harshly away from Huracan, throwing you to the other side away from him.
You heard Huracan scream your name out, your body feeling extremly numb, the world around you spinning while terror sunk into every firbe of your being.
Your neck twists to the side to see what had thrown you so viciously away from Huracan, fear laminating in your eyes, your gaze being met with the tip of a sharp spear, your body flinching away from it in terror but it was now pressed against the side of your neck in a threatening manner to slice your head off clean.
The lightning struck again, giving you a better vision of what was being hostile towards you , your eyes widening when your gaze falls on a manâ his entire being radiate regality from the way his body oozed confidence to the jewelry that was adorn upon him. His chest covered in some sort of metal that was beautiful crafted, the same type of metal also adorning his biceps and wrists.
She also noticed that he had pointed ears, adorn with jewels just like the rest of him.
You shakily raise your hands, to say you was no threat or harm but this act seemed to make the man even more infuriated when he spotted dabs of blood smeared on your finger tips and then seeing blood around the area where Huracan was.
"How dare you take my son away and harm him?"
Shit. Was the first thought that came to your mind, you was right, Huracan did have someone to go back toâ your thoughts being cut short when the cold tip of the spear pressed even closer to your neck that you could feel the pressure tearing slightly into your skin.
Your words were stuck in your throat from fear, you couldn't formulate a response except for a shaky breath to escape past your lips, your body trembling from pain and fear.
Due to your lack of response that made the King even more agitated, his spear was about to press into the side of your neck but tiny hands wrapped around his arm, holding it in place before he could slash at you.
"Father, please don't!" the young child cried out in his own language, this alerting the king who turns towards his sonâ the furious look that had adorn his face moments ago was replaced by one that was filled with worry.
"Huracan, my child. Are you alright? Did it hurt you?" his voice venomous when he says the word it , you didn't understand what they were saying but from the side glare the man had passed to you, you knew he had said something about you.
"No! Do not bring harm to y/n, she had saved me! Please do not harm her, she didn't do anything wrong. If you want to punish someone, fatherâ it should be me, I should have never left Talokan." The boy sobs out, hearing Huracan's broken voice made your chest hurtâ your eyes squeezing shut to prevent any tears from escaping as everything around you started to spin, the world around you becoming blurry as all the pain you felt physically and emotionally became blunt.
Your vision being filled with black dots that became larger until your eyes closed completely, body slumping into the sandâ the fear you felt along with the pain made you fall unconscious this grabbing Huracan's attention, the boy letting go of his father's arm to rush towards you.
A cry leaves past his parted lips, his hands reached out to hug your cold body against his.
"Look what you have done, father. You killed her!" The boy says inbetween sobs, you was far from dead but to Huracan seeing your still body, no warm smile on your face and your eyes that twinkled with care and affection was no longer thereâ you looked dead to him.
K'uk'ulkan looked down at you. His son held onto you so gently, the rain easing down â the thunderstorm slowly clearing up.
"Hura.. she's not dead." The king says while his inner voice says 'well not yet'. He didn't trust you, this human but the way his son held onto you like his own life depended on youâ he could not just kill you after he found out you had saved his son.
"You have to help her then or else I'll hate you forever." Huracan suddenly spat outâ eyes shining bright with anger and saddness, his words stung K'uk'ulkan , his heart aching at the words his son spewed at him. An expression of hurt forms on K'uk'ulkan's face, a soft sigh leaving past his lips.
He glances down at your unconscious form that laid on the sand, his son's words floating around in his mind. He bends down towards you, taking in your featuresâ noticing your skin has gotten paler and your ankle was swelling.
He was not keen on helping you, a surface dweller, he had hate for these disparage creatures but seeing how his son has become attached to you, clinging. He couldn't just kill you.
With one last glance towards your unconscious body, he looks back towards the raging ocean as he signals for Namora to come to him. He turns away and looks down at his son, his heart softening when he sees the tears on his cheeks as he sighs lightly.
'I'm only doing this for you my child.'
