Another fat fuck Friday
how do i make it so i can see this tweet every friday
Here's a little challenge for any artist: draw one mouse that's part of this thing I will never finish
As you can see, I don't need AI "art programs" to draw the weirdest stuff possible. Also, little poem thing that mostly doesn't rhyme cause fuck no I am bad at poetry, and also because it fits the drawing. Don't ask why there are some buildings, I have no idea either.
Meet Venya and Kari!
Venya is the smol white mouse.
Kari is the big brown mouse.
They are married.
They live in the town of Moorgrove inside of a giant pumpkin that also operates as a flower shop they run together.

A Party of Mice has arrived!
How to draw some meeses. Some cheese bois. Some rodent squadron.
I'm not always sure what God's I worship
I'm not always sure of my own morals
I'm not always sure of my theories of the afterlife
But something I am sure of and always have been is my belief in mother earth
And my hatred of cruel glue traps
I know the mice are not meant to be here
If I were fast enough to catch them to release I would
But I know I am not
So if it must come to a trap I will use something that is fast
Because between a quick bullet to the brain execution or a long tortureous death of struggle and starvation
I think all of us would choose the first choice
Mind you this creature is dying for such a petty crime
Just trying to survive somewhere they don't even know they shouldn't be
When it's over I'll bury him
The mouse in my room that will soon be in a trap that I've set
And I'll feel bad for murdering something more innocent than my own kind
But I will feel better knowing he did not suffer
And that I return him to the earth from which he came
Become throwing a creature of earth
of flesh and bone once granted life
Into layers of plastic with the pollution bound for a graveyard of garbage
It feels so wrong
Even as a child I knew that
It goes against all nature and worse starves earth of her meal
It's take with no true give
I'll likely repeat this to deaf ears of family
When they find me digging a hole for a pest
If I had a choice I'd be buried with no coffin
But I know I don't
So all I can do is hope for the cheapest one
Made of the softest wood
Something easy to rot
I'd rather not keep mother earth waiting long for her meal
For now I'll give her back the small mouse that wandered away from her to my own den
And hope she sees his death not as unatural cruelty but as predator sharing prey
The way I'm sure mice are meant to die
Anyone have any tips on owning mice and cats in the same household? I want to get some mice between college semesters and bring them with me for spring semester so I can have a pet without my cat Wendy getting freaked out by car rides constantly. So they won't be cohabbing with cats for long, just until the spring semester starts. Keeping the cats out of my room isn't an option because my house used to be a massage studio so there's a stupid service window between my room and the living room. We have tried to block this window before with a blanket and thumb tacks, but the cats just ripped it down. So, please, any tips for keeping my cats from literally murdering the mice are much appreciated.
It's ok, I did this with one of my rats.
I feel bad for any animals I adopt whilst fixated on something..anyway.. my beautiful mice Kyborg and Gum Gum.. they are not photogenic you will have to forgive them
I’m not really sure what To call this little guy. There about the size of a hamster but can be as big as a teacup dog or small dog. They tend to just fly about in the nighttime there luminous wings and eyes helping them to see in the dark. They only eat fruits, nuts and berries, rarely insects though because it doesn’t replenish there energy nearly enough as fruits, nuts and berries. mostly because it’s hard for there bodies to get the energy and nutrients that’s in the insects, and it’s hard to digest them. But for when they do hunt for them they use there ears to listen for any bugs nearby, there ears are very sensitive but they have learned to somehow change how sensitive there ears are to sound. I might possibly make this an official spicies. It just depends on how many people like my idea. So we’ll see.
uuuuugggghhh I'm taking damage
I found out that an art style you can do is drawing a pencil drawing...and then use watercolor to give it a splash of color. How fun! :D It is pretty neat. I’m not as practiced with watercolor as I am with colored pencil, but the color does go on faster. I made these for my co-workers as I left my mouse handling job to do art instead.
I gave this one to my vet friends who taught me SO MUCH. I got to trim little mouse toes when they got itchy skin to keep them from scratching it. I also learned how to trim mouse teeth!! Mouse teeth grow constantly and if they have malocclusion (where their teeth don’t line up right), they can grow out of control and be deadly to the mice. So we trim the bad ones to keep them healthy and happy. :) I also learned how to put ointment and eyedrops in their eyes. Basically what vets to with other animals...only on a teeny tiny scale. Between the mouse’s legs in the picture is the BASE OF THE TAIL. >.>
This was for my supervisor. He loooooved skulls. I thought having a scene out of “Hamlet” I mean “Hamouse” would be good. ;) ‘Alas poor Yorick, I ate him well.’ To a mouse, your buddy’s death is an excellent source of protein sometimes. Because mouse. We don’t talk about that side of their behavior. Instead, did I tell you mice have cute widdle noses? Cause they do!
This was for my project coordinator. She was so sweet, she was basically the mom to all of us. She is all about love, friendship, and positive thinking. :) The world definitely needs more people like her!
This was for a couple of people I worked with and we got pretty close. When I gave this to them, one said “Ha! We got the CUTE one of baby mice. Not the ugly ones with needles and skulls.” ;D They made me laugh so much! I will miss them all!
It would be remiss of me to not include introductions of my four-legged co-workers, as they will feature heavily I’m sure. :)
The newest (and smelliest) additions to the menagerie are the 4 female mice. The black one is “Kimmy” named for random reasons. The brown one with the torn ear is “Queen Bee.” She is a sweetheart and an older lady. I adopted her off someone who had given her the name and already a wonderful home, but was happy to have Queen Bee join the other girls. The “fancy mouse” grey one is named Riza from the anime: Full Metal Alchemist. Following that naming scheme is the white one “Winry.” :)
Next we have the gerbil brothers. The greyish one is Alphonse and the “blond” one (haha) is Edward. Yup, still with the FMA theme.
This is Puddleglum. She is a common house gecko. When I got her I knew nothing about the care and keeping of geckos. I only know she was supposed to live 5+ years. She just celebrated her 11th birthday with some tasty crickets this spring. I’m pretty convinced she’s an animagus. “CURIOUSLY LONG LIFE FOR A COMMON GARDEN RAT” Siriusly.
For the main players, we have our two kitties. The black fluffy one who is totally just big boned and fluffy and is not a tubby whatsoever is Missy. ;) The photogenic orange tabby who thinks everything is boring and needs to make his own fun is Scratch Fury: Destroyer of Worlds. We just refer to him as “Scratch.” Usually loudly and in a manner only exasperated cat owners can muster. We picked his name from the online comic PvP by Scott Kurtz. Good stuff you should check out. I love these cats to itty bitty pieces and I have learned SO MUCH about cat behavior that I will be sharing liberally here.
The last, but not forgotten, player is Patriot. She won’t be featured here for awhile as she lives in another state. I hope to change that soon. Turns out boarding horses locally costs much more dollars than where she currently lives. Alas. She is a registered quarter horse and has lived up to her breed title. Growing to only the quarter size of a real horse. lolz. She reaches just at or barely over pony height (14.2 hands). What’s that in real measurements? It’s a comfortable height to fall from. Her registered name is “Wind In My Sails” as her damn fine dam was named “Scirocco” and her studly sire was/is? named “Sailor Sam Silver.” Very piratey. What I yell across the pasture to get her attention and whisper sweet nothings in her fuzzy ear is “Patriot.” This is also known as a barn name. I picked apparently from American Girl: Felicity story. Because of course I did.
Thanks for making it this far! (even if you just skimmed by looking at the pretty pictures of animals).
Mouse bath :3
For context, I freed two mice from a glue trap using oil. I only decided to give them a gentle rinse because they were so chill!
Oily mfers
This is a little mouse I saved from a friends bath, years ago, where it had been imprisoned by their cat. It was released back into the wild unharmed. I think it was a wood mouse but I’m not sure. Note: I absolutely didn’t intend for the flash to fire when I took the picture.
Wood mouse (apodemus sylvaticus)
This cute little bugger was hiding in the back of my shed, managed to get a (high ISO) shot before leaving her/him alone.
Posting old animal/bug photos until I see new ones
Squeak squeak
Reminds me of Arrietty
My current Imaginary Scenario is to pretend I'm a mouse in a sort of Beatrix Potter World and imagine all the different objects in my house and how I obtained them. You know, spool of thread side table I stole from an old lady's purse. Velvet ring box armchair I found discarded in the park after a failed marriage proposal. Pocket square bed linens I liberated from the coat of a man distracted by a pretentious argument about beer. Bottle cap dishes also liberated during that argument. Beaded curtain that used to be a Mardi Gras necklace. That sort of thing.
Timothée Chalamet reminds me of the mouse from the Tale of Despereaux. He’s not a rat like in ratatouille. But a sad, triumphant mouse who always gives off the vibe that he’s just been always done crying in a medieval prison cell.
